  • Welcome newbies.

I have been saving a Jo Malone perfume for "best" (Earl grey & Cucumber) so I opened it this week and used it two days when I needed a boost. It worked, it's lovely. It is the first grown up perfume I've ever bought for myself (though not very MSE  ) Got three bottles of perfectly nice stuff bought for me as presents before I feel I can really move on to this for every day.. Sigh.

Calcot Manor The Lazy Evening Moisture Souffle 500ml - I love this as a body cream for night time. I wasn't expecting to use it up very soon as it's so big. It lasted me a couple of months. I found myself reaching for it at night as the chamomile and fig scent is very relaxing. WDBA (possible HG). I got this for £2 when on special offer but I've noticed it's £6 at full price so will wait some time before replacing it.

I've got plenty of body lotion/butter in the stash and have just opened my Superdrug Cherry and Macadamia Body Butter which smells like cherry bakewells. I've decided to use up my 500ml Baylis & Harding body lotion on my feet as a daily moisturiser (it's a very floral scent which isn't my cup of tea and doesn't do much for me).

I have some uus to report and a few ins too.

    Uus:

Lush breath of fresh air toner water sample- WBA as full size. This smells pleasant and my skin feels lovely. I do want to switch to a lush toner when ive used the others I have.

Classics acetone free nail polish remover 400ml- WBA this was cheap enough and did the job fine. Lasted a good while. It did remove stubborn glitter polish well too, much better than the one ive replaced it with which is useless.

Morgan vanilla foot lotion 50ml- WBA this was a very decent lotion which had a lovely scent and very good consistency. Think it was from a gift set and id be very happy to use this again. It did the job very well.

Avon footworks papaya sorbet cooling foot lotion 100ml- WMBA this had a nice scent but i do find these lotions quite watery and not as moisturising as id like. Still nice though and the cooling effect is nice in summer. I do have a few of these to use but i think i do prefer intensive ones.

Dove cucumber roll on deodorant- WBA this was fine, pleasant scent and did the job well.

    Ins:

2 x Lush 29 high street shower gels (1 was a gift from a friend so a NBI, the other i ordered for another friend but she didnt need it in the end so i think i will keep it as my 2nd one as it smells lovely - literally the smell you get when you walk into a lush store!)
    Lush dreamtime temple balm
Lush 3 gold rings bubble bar
    Lush sweet lips lip scrub

Oh and forgot thar group order arrived too (last one as group orders are no longer happening):

    Lush aura sauvis shower gel
Lush twilight shower gel x 2
    Lush amandopondo x 2
Lush mrs whippy bomb x 3
Lush magic mushroom bubble bar x 3
    Lush blue skies bubble bath
Lush bathos bubble bar x 2
    Lush softy bath bomb
    Lush sweetie pie shower jelly
Lush pot o gold shower jelly
    Lush heavenalli massage bar

    X 23 in

Ive also ordered some other bits from the lush kitchen - 3 snowcake gels (1 for me the other 2 are for friends) and a whoosh temple balm. Will declare when they arrive.

Ill have some outs next week or hopefully this week rather as im sending one of my friends who is having a snowcake a few other bits - some amandopondos and a ponche gel. She wants to try ponche and its going to take forever to get through my stash so im gifting it to her. :)

Ohhh, and as for my job, my meeting to decide whether they are terminating employment due to my disability is now the first week of september, i took my mum to the meeting as my GP (who is fuming and said in her medical opinion and having known me most of my life said i am capable of doing any job there if they keep to my 25 hours/week contract) said i had the right to take anybody to the meeting and said she wanted me to take my mum to hear what they had to say. They refused to let her in. So meeting is re sheduled for sept as im now on annual leave until then as we move house on the 26th of this month. I rang unison who cant help me as its a pre existing problem and they have a 4 week rule for help. I had no idea they were springing this on me so no time to join a union before july. So im still stuck for representation. I dont really want to bring colleagues into this as this isnt fair. They have now told me colleagues or union rep only to be allowed in. Looks like im going alone :( whivh means ill definitely lose to them, im no good at fighting, im the type of person who is a doormat unfortunately :-/ ive since found out from a colleague that they are closing the independent house and my 2 residents have been given 2 months notice. Colleagues apparently have been told not to tell me but this colleague said she felt i deserved to know. So its not about my disability really, they want me out because making me redundant would cost them. But if they let me go because they claim my disability is the issue/health & safety risk then they owe me nothing. I need to use this agsinst them now i know, without implicating the colleague who is trying to look out fir me as i dont want to risk her getting in trouble. Dont know how im going to do that though. But they cant get away with this, ive done nothing wrong :-/

Lucia22- not long ago there was calcot maor butters on fragrance direct at 99p or something silly. They might still have some.

ETA: yep, 99p for the one you like: http://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk/calcot-manor/calcot-manor-the-lazy-evening-moisture-souffle-250ml/invt/0063151

Worth stocking up if its a HG product and normally £6? Not that im enabling or anything :)

Gemzie, have you consulted a Solicitor to see if you can get Legal Aid to fight your case? Especially now that you know that they could have made you redundant? At least speak to one. I've been through this process myself and there's nothing worse than losing your job for something that is not your doing. Please seek legal advice rather than living with the regret that you didn't. I know it's harrowing.

OK so I didn't buy the TSV or the blotting powder for that matter. When I saw another show QVC said the duo had sold out and the single item was on sale for practically the same amount.

I did post on Feb that I was looking for the blush. Someone posted that they had not ordered the kit yet but asked how much I would pay them for the blush. I think this is cheeky- as if their ordering of the kit in the first place depended on how much I would contribute.

Repaintied my nails yesterday and am wearing Avon Naked Truth with OPI Piroutte my Whistle on top.

    Happy Monday everyone. X

Gemzie, can the disability charity covering your condition help with a rep and/or free legal help?

Out. Finished another Lancome Visionnaire which is good but not as good as the night version, which remains a HG.

A few more UUs for me:

    - Organic Surge replenishing facial oil. WNBA. Really liked this, but I just prefer mixing my own oils, or using serums.
    - Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse mini (10ml). WNB. It's nice, but expensive. Other oils are just as good for much less.
    - 2 sachets Dermablend fluid corrective foundation 16hr. WMB. I was pleasantly surprised by this! I expected it to be rather thick and cakey, but it went on nicely, was rather natural if applied well, lasted ages, and good value for money as only a little was needed. (each 1ml sample lasted 5days :) )

Gemzie, good luck with the upcoming meeting! Shame the union can't help. Have you tried contacting the CAB? And maybe posting on the Disability and Employment boards on this forum for some informed advice?
  • finished cow shed knackered cow- i repurposed it as a body wash shaving gel. i'm not too keen on body lotions. i have it pan on verve in the naked pallet. it is coming along, I should have it finished in 10 years time.

Oh my goodness! I'm so tempted. Thanks for the tip - I appreciate it. :) But I'll hold off for now - at least until I've used a few of my less inspiring body lotions. Then I'll feel like buying more. :) I was good today. I went into Tesco and got a few cheap sales clothes for holiday. There were a few temptations - they had £2 bottles of Herbal Essences and reduced price toner. Fortunately I remembered that I have enough similar products already in my stash.

    Updates on the LHJs

    - Vaseline body lotion - It has now been squeezed and the lid taken off with the last bits of product being shaken out. I didn't get it finished this evening but I'm sure I will finish this off in the next couple of days.
    - TBS Ginger Shampoo 400ml - I thought I'd finished tonight as I couldn't squeeze out any more out in the shower. However I just turned it upside down and got another 5-10ml out so have dispensed into a smaller bottle to be used up in the next few days.
    - Aveda Body Lotion - feels almost empty and has gotten to squeezing point but I may still be saying that I'm finishing it by next week.
    - Fearne Body Wash - have dispensed more into the smaller squeezy bottle I've been using and the larger bottle is now standing upside down to encourage the rest of it to come out.
    - Sure deodorant spray - keeps making hissing noises so I'm hoping to spray the last of it out over the next week.
    - Lush Breathe of Fresh Air Toner - have actually had this for over 5 years. It lasts forever!

It's so frustrating when you can see them finishing but they are not quite there yet. I hate wasting product though or throwing things out so I use them until they are totally empty. I tend to find that I have some slow months and then everything gets used up in one go. Anyone else struggling to use up a few products that won't quit?

VALM - i think we may seek solicitors advice, problem is we are a bit stuck for money as i dont have much in the way of savings, and i definitely need whats in my bank in case i lose my job. My mum is still paying solicitors fees as shes just been divorced plus shes buying a house and has got to pay for removal too for moving so she cant help me either. I might see if i can get any free advice from a solicitor anywhere (although doubt it) and mum mentioned no win no fee solicitors. Need to research into this, im just worried money might be an issue :(

I have an unexpected uu to report, went swimming tonight and my deodorant soray was empty when i went to use it, it had broke in my bag and nothing was left :(

Dove natural touch deodorant spray- WNBA i dont recall particularly liking the smell of this. May give it another go but theres plenty of others i like more. It broke in my bag too, the cap wasnt broken but where you press it to spray was, and it had obviously all leaked out. No idea how that happened but i wasnt impressed.
