    Evening all :)
Thanks for starting us off PF :)
    My list for today:
Sorted out sales stock - yay, I have an empty box :T
    Dog walks x 2
Blanched and froze a batch of French beans (I grow the climbing ones, as they freeze better than runner beans :))
Prepared shallots for pickling, have them in salt at the moment. In the morning, I will rinse off the salt, dry them and put them in jars with pickling vinegar. There aren't many this year, but enough for a couple of jars for Christmas :)
    Load of washing
Watered plants that needed it in the garden
Sold 2 ebay items (not paid yet though!)
Listed a couple of new items, and relisted some that hadn't sold
Picked some rhubarb and some yellow raspberries, which seem to come earlier than the red ones (I grow the autumn fruiting type)
Picked another handful of cherry tomatoes :)

    Still to do:
    Chop and freeze the rhubarb
    Check main bank
Put frozen beans into bags, as I open froze them to avoid solid lumps of beans

    Hi all

Not been around as much as I should, must try harder! DH and I had a good chat about our finances this morning. Although DHs business is doing well at the moment we need to be sensible about not spending every penny because this level of income won't last. My 2nd job is not 100% secure either and if we lost that we would be stuffed.

We came to the conclusion that although we dont have much spare we are living within our means and not adding to our debts which is a positive. I find it hard sometimes to not have money to spend but at lot of it is things I want rather than need.

We also talked about getting out and enjoying ourselves more without spending and I have various ideas for this. So tomorrow is going to be a (cheap) day out.

Other than that I have done lots of laundry and dried it outside, have taken some rubbish to the tip and done lots of cleaning. Chilli and jacket spuds for tea. DS2 has gone out with friends and will need picking up at some point. Oh and I must look at pet insurance for the dog before it renews automatically.

    Hi July Joculants,

Had a bit of a Mental Elf wobble s'morning but have managed to turn things to the good:

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    * Bought 2 DVDs in the Charity shop for £1.

    * Found 5 reduced-price items in the supermarket.

    * Next town has a new Italian Deli. Previously we had to make a 30 miles round trip for a deli. Very exciting. :D Went in for a coffee from personal spends and then bought a few very tiny portions of some cheeses and olives etc. I have, in the last few years, learned to ask for just 50g of this or 100g of that.

    * Freezer seems to still be leaking, or condensing, but less so than it was. Hoping this is resolving itself.

Live long, live well and prosper.

Thanks. I'm currently keeping busy to ignore the Elf. :o

And have been greatly cheered by an hour in the garden and the growth of our broad beans.

    Morning Gang

Yesterdays list was a bit scanty. But I did manage a long letter to a relative and going through all my ebay postage reciepts and checking on royal mail tracker that they'd all arrived.

Just reported in on the roadkill rebels thread. £4.27 this month. Pretty good for just found funds :)

Yorkshire hope your cycling day out is really lovely.

    Back later

    Morning all

I have been busy already transferring balances. I have been offered a 0% until Oct 2019 which is a blessing because two of our 0%s have just run out.

Thanks Bob. We are going to put the bikes on the car and drive to the coast (1 hr away) then cycle from one coastal village to another. We will take sandwiches and drinks but I cant promise that there wont be chips or cake at some point! I think DS1 might be coming, DS2 hates cycling so will probably spend most of the day in bed. No-one else is awake yet but if we are going to get parked we need to be off fairly early.

I am off to make sandwiches. Have a good Sunday everyone x

    Morning all,

Thanks for starting us off PF.
Bob I hope your FIL is better soon.
Ally take care of yourself, make sure you're putting yourself first for a bit!

This weekend my parents are here helping us with DIY in the nursery, so far 1 wall is nearly finished as we have had to strip 2 walls back to brick & are adding insulation & then re-plastering. I don't think we'll get finished this weekend unfortunately but it's a good start. So with that in mind this weekend I have/will:-
    • Checked online banking
    • Checked freepostcode lottery
    • Made a shopping list & gone to Sainsbugs, used vouchers where I could
    • Most meals from stores, rather than going out to eat last night I suggested a takeaway from the chippy down the road which has won awards so it doesn't seem so cheap but was certainly a lot cheaper than going to the local pub!
    • Washing on eco setting using less than the recommended dose of washing liquid & hung up to dry, will do the same today
    • Wrapped my niece's present ready for my parents to take back with them as they are more likely to see my sister before I do, saves postage
    • My Dad & DH have been doing DIY in the nursery whilst my mum & I did some work clearing the jungle of a garden, we will sort this house slowly but surely!
    • Hopefully get a few more odd jobs done round the house today & continue to get free advice from my parents about the best way to do these things, saves us making costly mistakes
    • Enter some more comps, thanks Ziggy for all your help on FB with this!

Have a great, MSE weekend everyone x

    Morning all. Happy Sunday :hello:

Lovely day yesterday did go out for a treat in the afternoon hot drinks for me and DH and biscuit for smalls. Didn't do home pedicure or eyebrows as couldn't find nail polish remover so deferred to today's list.

Got everything out of freezer for roast today, all cooked and frozen last time. Might make some Yorkshire puds as a treat. Will make double and freeze half.

Hoping for a fairly lazy day as I'm tired, not sure why just a few early starts catching up with me.

Will pop back later to catch up on things.

    Morning all :hello:
Well we're back from our couple of days away, which was lovely but a bit £££. I suppose that places like Alt0n Towers can charge what they want though as they're in the middle of nowhere with no competition.
It got me thinking that as I have a big birthday coming up next year, I would like to go away for a couple of days with the family. I've not wanted it to be a big deal and definitely haven't wanted a party or anything - so I think a couple of days off, with my family would be just the ticket. I just need to think of somewhere now - like Centerparcs but cheaper.
All back to normal though - I sneaked a couple of PAD's to the cc while I was away. And best get on with today as normal - back to it.
    housework and washing
    PAD
    August Budget
 find August turtle thread and sign up
    order dd uniform
    crochet
 research big birthday break (UK based)
 continue hunt for one missing kitty
    take kids pokemon hunting.
Ally - hope that you're doing ok today. That blimming Elf better do one.
Have a good day everyone - see you later :j
