Another viewing after offer accepted

Hey everyone,
We have had our offer accepted on a house we want to buy a few weeks ago. Everything is currently in motion, survey booked, mortgage valuer, solicitors etc.
We only had one viewing and we made a offer quickly based on the amount of interested the house had (there seemed to be a few viewers, and good houses tend to go quick in the area). Unfortunately myself and my wife were the only ones to view it, and my mum would really like to look at the house that we are buying.
Whats the etiquette for asking for another viewing once everything is in motion. We don't want to seem like we are having second thoughts as this is far from the case. But I would love my mum to look around the house we are buying and get her involved, also this would be an ideal time to measure up a few things.

Well, what I have done is ask for another viewing to enable to check where furniture etc. will fit.
During my second viewing I also gave the seller my mobile number so we could contact them directly if we wanted to come back for whatever reason. Their EA didn't like it but screw them they are not doing me a favours.YNWA

Yep, I asked to be able to measure up and they were happy to arrange that because work was underway and we'd spent some money - they had said they wouldn't arrange a second viewing if no money had been spent on the purchase yet though!0

It's relatively common to want another viewing while things are underway, most people want to plan furniture, decoration, show other family members around, take extra photos, measure up etc.
I doubt they would think you are having second thoughts0 -

It's quite normal to have a second (and even a third) viewing.
Us the second viewing to measure up curtains, check whether your furniture will fit rooms (can you actually get your sofa/beds in?), what areas of the garden catch the sun, show a relative round, etc.
You are planning to give the sellers an awful lot of money - if they aren't willing to let you see your purchase more than once, look for somewhere else to buy!0 -
I think vendors like to see you come around again, and especially bring family members. To me, it shows commitment to purchase, rather than the opposite!
As you've agreed to buy the property now, no need for poker faces. You can flatter the vendor, and tell them all the things you love about their home. I offer second viewers tea/coffee and HM cake:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
The buyers of my house wanted a 2nd viewing 2 weeks after their offer was accepted, it did worry me quite a bit, with lots of over thinking.
I am sure if you explain to them its just to show it to your Mum they will understand and not worry.0 -

We had a second viewing before our house even went on the market (we only put ours for sale to get this house). Buying a house is a massive decision which is usually made after having spent only a short time looking round the property. If someone refused me a second viewing I'd wonder what they were wanting to hide!0

Our buyers came round about six times - they had a couple of viewings before making an offer and then a third one to measure things. They were planning to make some major changes so they then brought several workmen round to get quotes so that the work could start as soon as the sale went through.0

I only viewed our ongoing purchase once. I'm semi-hopeful of getting in there again before completion to measure a couple of bits, but currently waiting until after we've exchanged before going back.0
