I think it’s because I went to several shops to get deals and use vouchers so am hoping I won’t need as much over the next few weeks.

Were the voucher deals things you would buy anyway over the month? I usually weigh up whether the voucher deals are really going to save me money but then I live over a toll bridge from our closest city so sometimes it is an easy decision to say the savings on the vouchers are not worth the extra trip and temptation to put more in the trolley. Our closest supermarkets in our town are just Waitrose Lidls and co op. All the others are over the bridge so tend to be bottom of my list for food shopping as I have to make a special trip or a detour on my way home from work when I hate food shopping anyway.

They were money off vouchers £8 off a £40 spend so I bought cupboard bits that were on offer ( bits that we use and would need in a couple of weeks but the vouchers expire tomorrow)
  • Food shopping is my problem area, I always overspend. I think mine is probably down to lack of planning and now added in with a lack of time. Good luck on the job, that extra earning potential is amazing!

    Hi,

I haven't been on here for a while as I was embarassed to say that my debt amount was incorrect and is actually more than I realised. I now have an updated spreadsheet with all debts and updated apr's. I am gutted it is higher but here I am trying yet again.

Over the last few weeks my food shop has averaged to £85 per week including toiletries, lunches to school etc.

DH gets paid this week and I will be cashing out money for food, entertainment etc and sticking to it.

I am going to set myself realistic goals. I need to have a think about debt goals that are achievable.

Welcome back! This is the best place to be, whether debt is going up or down. Life really does get in the way sometimes, for whatever reason, and debt slaying is a bumpy emotional rollercoaster!

If its any consolation, I have a £400 dentist bill, a £610 boiler bill and a £400 car insurance bill to cover in the next few weeks.

Stick around - we're here to keep you company and we'd like you to keep us company :)

Glad your back , wondered where you had gone. At least you came back and didn't give up which is surely a good sign! No point in beating yourself up , you know where you are up to with everything, just keep going.
