    Christmas was lovely thanks.

It's hard this time of year as it feels like all I've done is spend money!

    Hi,

New year and feeling overwhelmed already, I have loads of deals ending this year so am slightly panicking as by May I could be paying £100 interest.

    Hi debtaghhh

I know the feeling of being overwhelmed but try not to panic over it. Is it likely you will be offered any 0% transfer deals at all. Even if you were able to transfer a percentage of the balance? I know it's only moving the debt but it could give you some breathing space.

    Fingers crossed

    Hi,

I have been looking back and can't believe I started this 3 and half years ago! Enthusiastic saver you were counting down to early retirement and I realised in one of your posts the other day from your signature that that was in 2017

I had another lightbulb moment the other day and it has made me feel quite down to be honest. My dad has some credit cards under his name for me as he gets deals. One is due to come to and end and we were applying for another one and it got me thinking that is so wrong my dad in his 70's is getting a 3rd credit card for me ;( . Christmas was so busy that I didn't really stop and think about much so I'm going to take the next week or so and reflect on things as something needs to change .... full time employment , cancelling things , really becoming frugal I don't know but I can't carry on like this as it brings me down.
  • Morning debtaghh,

It may be worth while thinking about the DMP again, surely for some breathing space. xx

Goodness has it really been 3 and a half years since your diary started? I have been retired 2 years now although it does not seem like it. Time whizzes by.

I think if you do not think progress has been made in those 3 and a half years and not much has changed then yes something drastic has to change or this must seriously be affecting your mental health to struggle on like this from year to year. As you do not always keep your signature up to date only you know if you are making progress though by hopefully the debt reducing year on year.

Although you may think your parents are helping you with lending you money and taking out credit for you this restricts you taking advantage of any of the usual debt solutions so is just delaying the inevitable when your parents can no longer apply for credit cards for you and then you will be forced to deal with it.

I am not surprised it brings you down as you must feel very trapped. Take time to reflect on where you go from here.
