I have been thinking of setting myself a target of how much to spend from now until the end of the year on food, toiletries etc including Xmas... any ideas for family of 5? I'm wanting to do it the cheapest as possible for the next few months so I can pay off more debt as the Nuba will go from 0% to 30% on the 1st Jan  which we are no way going to pay!

    I was thinking:

    Toilet paper - £5.29
    Milk-£3
    Bread £2
    Cheese-£3.40
    Ham-£1.50
    Yoghurts-89p
    Fruit and veg-£10
    Cereals-£3
    Cleaning products-£2
    Allocate towards nappies and wipes-£2
    Meat-£10
    Other-£15

So approx £60 per week, what do you all think? I know this won't work long term but was thinking until the new year or is that not possible and have I missed off some major things?

Eggs and butter/Marge?groceries like pasta, rice, flour. I don't mean to be personal but you seem to get through a lot of toilet paper in a week. Good to have a target but that might be a tad low. I am sure food is more expensive. We can do a Lidl's shop for 2 for about £35 or £40 whereas it used to be £30 tops. How old is your youngest? My daughter has toilet trained her 2 year old DD which saves on nappies.

We do go through a ridiculous amount of toilet paper, it's ridiculous. Maybe £75 a week? My dad is finally toilet trained and near enough at nights too.
