Well done on the positive attitude. It is so easy to overspend, I do it far too often then am chasing money around trying to make it up all the time. I'm determined October isn't going to be the same!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500

I've used some of the money transfer to pay £350 off the capital one and £275 off another cc so don't feel as bad.
I get so tempted at this time of year with all the Christmas celebrations!
I did over 17000 steps yesterday and am on over 8000 today so pleased with that.0 -
Morning debtaghh, you sound really positive
As MrsSave says it is very easy to overspend, I think I'm an expert at it now lol
Well done on the weight loss and the steps.

Morning,
I had a little break from here due to personal reasons but I have still been reading other diaries and trying to be good with my money.
I have tried to hang the washing out as much as possible and still haven't put the heating on - have others put theirs on yet? It is starting to get cold but I can't remember when I normally put it on. I have been really watching putting lights/ switches on and we have been lighting candles.
I've done more Christmas shopping but really happy with what I got and for the cost. I do want to spend less overall though as we need to clear this debt! My husband has cancelled a few things that used to come off his payslip so that should be an extra £20 a month.
I haven't made any more payments to the credit card but think I have been better with my general spending. My only issue is my food shop, I'm not sure what is going on- has food got even more expensive? Payday is not for another 11 days and I do not want to spend more than £100 on food in that time. But I do have guests coming over twice.
I have lost another 1lb but haven't been that disciplined so pleased with any weight loss!0 -
Morning debtaghh,
Sometimes it's good to have a break, hope you're ok?
DH gave in and put the heating on last week.
I too need to think about Christmas shopping, haven't got much, so well done on what you've bought so far
And well done on the weight loss0 -
Hi,
Yes I am ok thanks.
Going to Aldi today to try and cut my food budget down!
May make a small payment towards the capital ons as I feel I haven't in a while.0 -
Morning,
I went to Aldi yesterday and managed to spend £93😱 but did stock up and have food for my guests coming over this week. I'm not spending more than £30 on food until the 20th. I am going to cash it out to ensure I don't go over. From the 20th I am going to write exactly what I'm spending on food in a month as we really can't afford £100 per week. Been feeling a bit low about debt and not owning our own house, it's so hard to keep positive .0 -
Well done on the Aldi shop and I think its a great idea to write down what you've spent on the groceries.....I may consider this one too.
I know you're feeling a bit blue hun, think it's catching....hugs to you, you are doing great and the Capital One will be gone in no time xx0 -
Paid another £50 off the capital one today.
Have done 14000 steps so am pleased with that.
Think I will copy you purple mum and set my goals for be next year!0 -
Hi,
I have done over 14000 steps today , which I'm pleased with.
I've decided that it can be quite nice having the challenge of being frugal at times, I feel like I have achieved something.
I haven't done any top up shops yet so current food shop spend is £94. I definitely think working with cash will be better for me as puttting things on a card is too easy!0
