  • I can confirm that I am the owner of 3 nail buffer sets! Works a dream!

A young male SA didn't even hestitate putting it through, commenting "What a Bargain!", but a more clued up Female SA said "Oh, I don't think that will work". So I asked her to try (knowing full well it would work!). Presto! Free stuff!

BTW, this was in Preston Fishergate store.

  • If any1 has the 500 point extra for an Xmas evening dated 15th November please PM me as it would be very useful when buying my (well my sons) nappies. I can swap for some other vouchers if you tell me your interests I will have a rummage.
    Thanx

The 500 extra points for the shopping evenings are for 28/29 November only. (If it is the one we got at the first evening you are talking about).

    Hello all

I did a carefully-orchestrated mega shop at our recent Boots Christmas Evening (I went armed with a spreadsheet of everyting I needed to buy to maximise my points total!) and was very pleased with how well I did :) One of the things I bought was a set of hair straighteners (at £34.99) for my daughter for Christmas. These were ones she particularly wanted BUT ... I have subsequently discovered that my grumpy/ungrateful/difficult-to-please mother-in-law has bought a set of hair straighteners (not really the ones wanted, either) for my daughter from elsewhere, to give her for her birthday next week.

I'm in a bit of a quandary now. If I take my hair straighteners back to Boots for a refund, I presume they'll deduct the Boots points I earned at the Xmas shopping evening including the extra bonus ones - will they? There's nothing else I want from there now, having done it all in a huge shop to get the bonus points. I daren't ask my mother in law to take her set back and get somethign else - I'd never hear the end of it and it's just not worth the hassle!

    What would you do??

CJ - I returned about £20 off stuff from a shopping evening yesterday. They only took off the actual points that stuff was worth (about 80 points). I got to keep all my bonus points etc. I guess that with all Boots transactions though, it depends on who you get! I went to the perfume counter as our Boots doesn't have CS/refund desk.
    Good luck!
    Now proud Mumto3 :j
  • I'd keep them and give them as planned. If your daughter is like mine, she will be unhappy with MIL's straighteners, wont ever use them, and will still nag for the ones you bought.

In 2 weeks time though, I would tell MIL sadly that hers *broke* and did she have the receipt to exchange them. Good luck x

    Thanks :)

    That's excellent advice, Louise.

It's also very useful to know that you didn't lose your bonus points, Mumto2 ... I'd have bet anything they'd have deducted those too (in fact they may have done if you'd gone to the CS desk!! Good move going to the perfume counter :)

Can anyone help please.Last week I placed a .com order of £52.50 for some dior makeup the money has left my paypal account.I have waited and waited for the parcel and nothing has turned up as it was due on the 31st october.Boots are not helping at all and only gave me a upi number to ring royal mail about it but I can't get through to a human at royal mail and keep getting through to an automated machine which demands a track &trace ref which starts with 2 letters-Boots won't give me one saying the upi number is all they have. It's a lot of money to lose as i sold lots of bits on ebay so I could use the funds on some dior as a treat.Any ideas guys?
