I have £40 of Boots vouchers that i got from Pigsback - I was going to use them tomorrow and add £10 to it so I spent £50 and got an extra 1000 points as well as extra points because it is Christmas shoppig day.

Will this work or do I have to pay by card or cash instead?

I thought the total after coupons and vouchers had to come to £50 for the extra 1000 points to work?

    Hi everyone,

Looking for some quick help here - all you bootsers are more advanced than I am so can maybe make more sense of this receipt than I can!

Ok, so went to Boots today for the christmas event and bought:

    Perfume - £40
Lipgloss - £14 (got free gift)
    3 for 2 on gifts
    Lipgloss
    Nivea Set

The woman had a bit of trouble with the free gift with the perfume and lipgloss and ended up having to take it off and re-scan. In the mix up she re-scanned the Nivea set too (adding another £6.65) I didnt notice this so my total came to £94. I thought to myself, I may as well add another £6 to get the 2000 points. So picked another lipgloss to bring total to £100.29. I also had a double points coupon to see if there was any extra points. The lady scanned this but said she thought it wasnt going through and scanned it a couple of times.

So.... on my receipt, it says:

    ***Offer Points***

    1000acp wys 50
    1000acp wys 50
    1000acp wys 50
    1000 acp wys 50

    Points received 400
    *offer points* 6000
    Double points 400
    New points 7545

I only had £7 on this card before I went in.

Has this added my online order that I made the other day too? (1000 for Olay?) or should this still be added on?

Thanks for your help in advance
Wow  Lucky you. It look like you got 6800 points per transaction  Sniff sniff, I smell a glitch - when double points coupon are double scanned on shopping event, it doubles Olay (2000) or shopping event (1000 when you spend 50, or 2000 when you spend 100 in this case) points. Sorry, it sounds tricky, but we need to check this  For example, with your and your husband's double points coupons (if your dear got this coupon too) - as I noticed these coupons have the same barcode, 2 coupons should do something magic :D
The question is - which points were doubled - Olay or shopping event points?

Edited:sorry, looks like I'm wrong here - you didn't buy Olay tonight, did you? What lipgloss did you buy, any offers on it?
  • Hi

Thanks for your reply. Everything went through in one transaction but she scanned the free Estee Lauder Gift first then had to remove it so she was in a bif of a kufuffle!

So what she has done is - given me my 2000 points rightfully, but then scanned the double points twice? I did notice she did this actually as she didnt think it worked first time, although I thought she had scanned it 3 times!

This was on the 1000 shopping events, my 1000 olay haven't went on yet, this was on an online transaction and not quite sure where they are!

edit: have you written 2000 olay as a mistake? as online it is 1000 for a £20 spend?

Yes, 2000 on Olay I written by mistake, I mean only 1000. Totally confused! :)
Online purchases should be collected at Advantage Card Machines (you need to insert card and a window with message that some points were added will pop out. After pressing OK the points will be automatically added to your card. Note that not every machines for unknown reason lets you collect them, so if one of them didn't offer, try another one.

400 points were for total spend (£100, 4 points per £1, means 400 points)
another 400 - with double points coupon.
So maybe double points coupon tripled your shopping event points? You should get 2000, but she scanned double points coupon (thus adding another 2000?) and then again - so another 2000? In that way everyone who gave double points coupon on shopping event shoud get 2000 points hen you spend £50? But no one reported, so maybe tat was glitch in your store? Or did you use any other (magic) coupon? :D I'm totally confused and full of white envy - spend 100 and get 68 back - really not bad! ;):o:beer:

Are you sure she didn't scan a seperate sheet of paper with a different barcode on it?
I only ask because we weren't briefed thoroughly in our store and one of the other SAs told me that we had to scan a barcode for the points to be added for the £50 spend but it turns out that this barcode was to be used only for boots direct orders so a few lucky customers recieved an extra 1000points when we scanned this barcode for them. This is the only thing i think she could've done as the double points coupon def only works for the spent points not the extra points.
  • Oh and I checked the Boots Direct delivery prices on the till this evening and they are £2.95 for standard delivery and between £5 and £8 for express deliveries.
  • Hi

Thanks for your replies. No she definetely just scanned my double points a couple of times. Her and the other sales assistant were getting so mixed up with the free gift with the Estee Lauder as she scanned that first and it said 'gift threshold not reached' so she removed it then scanned the perfume and the Nivea set again (for some reason she thought you get a Nivea set free with perfume??!) So I paid double for the Nivea set!

Didnt put my card in the machine today so not sure if the points are there waiting for me. I think the Braehead store only has one so not sure what I'll do if it doesn't give me them?!

The coupon I used was a standard double points - and she also didnt give me it back! lol
