  • Remember 3 for 2 on no 7 and I saw somewhere this morning a free cosmetic brush gift set when you buy the 360 mascara which is £10.50 I think.

Hi all, Just a quick question:

Have any of you actually been given the usual type of voucher for £5.00 No7,Ruby & Millie etc or have you just been getting the receipt version? I've purchased some off Ebay but i heard a lady who works in Boots saying that they had been replaced by the til spit version!?
I'd be grateful for any feedback as i don't fancy being told that the vouchers i'm trying to spend are infact not being used now!:o

I got a normal paper £5 today, so you should have no problems with the ones you have bought off Ebay. Even if they start introducing till spit ones, the paper ones are still valid.

debtfree27may.........Tell them you are going to phone trading standards for them selling out of date food, its an offence that carries a huge fine up to £17k per item!

  • popped into my local small boots after dropping ds1 at playschool and bought a couple of Heinz baby food for ds2. Didn't realise until I got home that one of them is out of date - sept 11th 2007! Slightly miffed until I actually realised this is the 3rd time this year I have bought out of date baby food from boots. Once at cribbs causeway, this time and the other was the 5mths out of date baby rice from boots.com x 4 packs.I phoned cust serv and the guy said they would ask the store manager to phone me back, unusual tactic I thought? Anyways store manager phoned me back and said oh just pop it in and well have a quick chat and give you a replacement. I know I'm gonna open a can of worms here (BTW I do make majority of ds2 food, I buy jars etc for when he stays with granny/nanny etc) but does anyone else not think they should be taking this matter slightly more seriously, as I myself have purchased out of date baby food 3 times this year alone?

Agree with the others, sounds like their stock monitoring procedures for food leave something to be desired!

Thank you all for your comments. I really wanted to know where I stand with Trading Standards etc.?
as when I phoned up about the .com order ( dried baby food 5mths out of date) the supervisor i spoke to was slightly alarmed when I mentioned TS (maybe the sligh wobble in her voice gave it away or the "how would 2000 pts on ur AC sound") at the time i didn't pursue the matter for various reasons, however i was concerned to learn that there were "many more packets in the warehouse"which were subsequently disposed of.
Maybe I should get a job in boots so I can parole the baby food aisles looking for contraband:rotfl:

I have 2 x £5 No 7 vouchers and wonder which is the best way to use them??

    Any suggestions?

    thanks

Use them on sale items. I got loads of stuff in the sale, the last time the 5.00 vouchers were out (not had any this time 'cos I haven't been bootsing for ages). I got loads of nail polish, foundation and lippies, all for free or just a few pence to pay. Don't pay at N7 counter though!

I think trading standards should be informed of this, especially as it's a food item for a baby. Boots are very careless when it comes to making sure their stock is in date. I bought a Roc peel mask a few months ago from Hammersmith, which expired in 8/2006! As soon as I realised I called CS. They gave me a gift card with 15.00 on it (I had to call them about 6 times though, 'cos the gift card never arrived . Eventually they sent one by registered post) the CS guy said he would make sure all their stores removed the out of date Roc products from their shelves. However, a week later I spotted more Roc creams on sale (in another store) which had also expired in 2006!!!

I once bought out of date baby milk in Boots. Luckily we noticed the lid of the bottle before my daughter actually drank it, but it was quite frightening. After complaining to customer service i got an apology letter and a £20 gift card. It is really careless and there is no excuse for this to happen in such a reputable high street retailer. Luckily your little one didn't eat from that jar. Best of luck !!!
