My PIP Payment Date Confusion

Defiance
Hello,
I am confused about my new pip payments (never had pip before)
I will add all the info/details in the hope of someone explaining where i'me going wrong payment date wise
I was put on the Enhanced rate of pip for daily living and mobility, £82.30 and £57.45 from 27th april 2016 to 16th December 2020
I recieve money into my post office card account of £1,577.17 on the 21st July 2016 (last week)
It says, this is money we owe you from the 27th April 2016 to 14th July 2016
We will then pay your benefit into your usual account every four weeks in arrears on a friday
Last Thursday the £1,577.17 went in fine
My benefit was due yesterday (monday 25th), it amounts to bar a few pence £210 for a fortnight, i can't remember if it was income support/esa/incapacity
My usual benefit didn't go in yesterday
I really don't understand how much i get now, i live alone and have mental health and health problems, so not really anyone to ask until next week when my psychologist does a usual home visit
Sorry for not being too bright, i just feel in limbo not knowing how much i will have each month so my family can budget for me (my shopping/bills and cleaning etc)
Thankyou for any help
Have a great day

Don't know if this helps -
PIP (after the initial 'catch-up' payment) will be paid every 4 weeks. By my calculation this will be £559.
Your normal benefit ESa? is paid fortnightly. And will continue to be paid.
So If you were in the WRAG ESa group it is about £204.30 every 2 weeks.
Now, for the slightly more complicated bit......
......the award of PIP should increase the amount of income-based ESa you will receive.
If you live alone, and no one claims carers allowance for looking after you, then you should receive an additional £61.85 per week Severe Disablement Premium added to your IB / ESa fortnightly payment.
As you have been awarded the Enhanced PIP Rate, you should also receive the Enchanced Disability Premium (EDP) of £14.95 pw. Again added to your existing IB / ESa fortnightly payment.
Some info here:
https://www.turn2us.org.uk/Benefit-guides/Severe-Disability-Premium/What-is-a-Severe-Disability-Premium.aspx
http://www.entitledto.co.uk/help/disability-premiums-in-benefits
It is worth telling your council of the PIP award, as this might increase the amount of HB /CTr you get.
It may be your ESa benefit is slightly delayed as the DWP are amending it to include the EDP
It is likely you will have to ask the DWP for the Severe Disablement Premium to be paid (if you are eligible) as this is not automatic.
Sorry if this is complicated - Do you have a support worker / friend with whom you could visit the CAB? They should be able to help you get the premiums in payment if they have details of all your benefits.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
Hiya,
Crikey, that's a lot of information !
My benefit was £210.70 for a fortnight, i'm sure it was incapacity ? i didn't have to do job searches or go to the job centre, was never in wrag or support group
I have no one claiming anything else for me, and i don't claim anything regarding a carer
It's just me, my house, and as it was £105 a week, less gas/elec/council tax (i just had to pay 10% in 8 payments) and around £250 water a year, what was left was what i had for food, usually just ate a main meal at teatime as i guess most on benefits have to
My psychologist a long time ago mentioned benefits, i didn't know anymore than i do now really, she has been great and of course so has my doctor, who both started the ball rolling to get me on pip as they both assumed i was already on it
Midweek coming, my psychologist makes her usual visit, i best ask her
So as it stands, it looks like i will now recieve £559 a month to live on ?
So my original benefit of £210.70 a fortnight, double that to £421.40 a month (if maths are ok) and it's made up to £559 a month so i gain £139 approx each month ?
Anything helps obviously, £139 a month more means i can get my roof fixed after saving the extra
Many Thanks
Def
ps : I will check links later, i have to go lay down, pain as usual and cluster headache started
Thankyou, will check and maybe post back later
Thanks Again for taking time out to reply, it's much appreciated
very quick
pps: i have got an axemption form for car tax if i needed it, and also somewhat cryptic info on getting a blue badge if i required0 -
you will receive the £559 AS WELL as what you currently receive.
you will get 2 separate payments. one every fortnight as you do now, and then a separate payment of £559 every 4 weeks.
you may be entitled to another £120 a fortnuight in addition to what you already receive, but no one can say for sure unless you can confirm which benefit you already receive0 -
Were you on DLA before you got PIP?
If not then the £559 will be on top of what you were already getting, so about £980 per four weeks.
If you're on incapacity benefit, you'll have to move to ESA at some point, probably quite soon.
If you look at your bank statement, the money that goes in will have a reference next to it. It will have your national insurance number and then IB or ESA. Can you tell us what that is?
Do you have a car? If not then you can ignore the bit about car tax, although if you go out with friends or relatives the blue badge could be useful.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Yes the PIP is in addition to what you already receive. So you will be £559 (4 weekly) better off.
AND, it looks like your existing (IB?) benefit award may increase because of the PIP award.
If you can get to your local CAB and take all your DWP paperwork (or perhaps MIND may be able to help) they could tell you exactly what premiums should apply to your IB / IS / ESa.
Sounds, like you have very good Health Professionals supporting you!!
Best Wishes.
PS. Crossed posts with nannytone & ames - hence the repititon (I'm a slow typer!!!!)
And I've amended my first post in an attempt to make it more clear.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
Hiya's,
Head's still pounding, but my neighbour called round and has looked through my paperwork and post off statements
I was on Incapacity, my last attended assessment was Nov 2015, i kept my benefit
It seems that was changed to ESA at some stage according to the assessment interview letter
That was the only benefit money i ever had go into my post office card benefit account (have no bank account)
So all i have ever claimed is a single benefit that involved money directly to me
The other/s were at the most both council tax and rent (this is my house now so no rent claimed)
So to be clear now i claim and get .......... (up until this pip thingy)
ESA + Council Tax (and i have to pay the 10%)
Hope that makes sense
What's threw me is, yesterday, my usual benefit hadn't gone in as normal
I really wish they could do like they do on my annual paperwork which tells me what the law says i have to live on, that was simple, it said £210.70 a fortnight
I will try and somehow get to check the balance tomorrow, maybe it's gone in late i dunno, did have it stopped a few years ago, after contacting they found no reason for it being stopped and said give them 2 or 3 working days for it to be put in, actually i remember it was in the following day
So blimey, it seems i get the pip on top of my original benefit !
Wow, i'm in shock, and actually tearful
Thankyou All for the replies it's really appreciated
If you need anymore information just ask, but i've only ever had one type of benefit payment, the council side of things never involved money, just i paid them money
Thankyou
Def
ps : Post Office card payment staement, just says DWP Payment Cash, Credit £210.70
No ID for payment, But on the paperwork neighbours found from at least Nov 2015 i've been on ESA0 -
Hi, I think you need to contact DWP and ask why your payment didn't go in yesterday. As others have said the PIP payment shouldn't have stopped it, if anything it will in time increase it. I've heard of people having to apply for the Severe Disablement Premium (a simple form, nothing to worry about) but I wonder if the Enhanced Disability Premium has been added to your award but somehow not done properly and it's either stopped or delayed your payment this week. You'll only know for sure by phoning them. Hopefully it will be easily sorted out.0

Hiya,
This is where it gets complicated, hopefully not for long ............
I have to wear hearing aids, siemens over the ear type, i'm going deaf on top of other things lol, well, i gotta laugh or i'd cry
Calling and hearing even on hearing loop is extremely difficult for me, so generally of late, i call, quickly explain about my hearing, they go through asking if it's ok to talk to my neighbour etc and they take over and relay chat to me, a pain i know, but maybe i can now buy some proper hearing phone etc
I will ask a friend to help me call tomorrow
Many Thanks
A night of unrest i think

I wouldn't be at all surprised if your ESa payment has been delayed whilst the Enhanced Disability Premium is being added to it.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0

Please don't have a sleepless night. It's probably just an admin error or issue. And even if there's been some almighty mess up, your PIP alone is now more than you were getting before so you can manage for a short while until it's sorted out.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
