  • Bob - so sorry to hear that it's so up and down. I just know I couldn't cope with that level of stress at all... Fingers are firmly crossed that you get the money owed to you today!

Cheers Cat it's sorted now already. And have had two more dramas since this morning. Honestly I think I might become a bike courier next or maybe a bomb disposal expert, can't be any worse :)

So money recieved. Business rates paid. Money transferred to our account to cover the electricity and gas bill of £83 due to come out on the 22nd. Left £100 in there. Once I get everything finalised this week I will pay back to CC immediately. Plus my business energy bill.

Its a juggling act at the moment for sure. One element that I am on a steep learning curve with is the people management side. That saying 'theres nowt so queer as folk' is so true. Some I find are amazing to deal with. Others are stubborn, want it all their own way and won't give an inch.

Was out with my children earlier and got a rather worrying message. Thought it over and discussed with OH. Imagining big issues but it had all blown over in an hour.

Then a family issue came up. That is also fine for now. Gad I need a flack jacket and fatigues not a Mum uniform.

Still, as things stand with the offset from GP contributions I have so far spent £65 on Christmas presents which is hardly Ivana Trump.

    Off for a cuppa.

    Bob

When they are small, they only really want the one main present, the rest can be a box of blown up balloons (fab for babies), silly string in the stocking and a fight/war allowed on the landing before breakfast, they remember the daft stuff and scrabble and hot chocolate and being allowed to stay up late eating popcorn and watching a film with you. That's what they remember Bobs, honestly it isn't about the amount you spend, well, definitely not the amount I spend! It is about the falling around on the floor laughing so hard you can't stop, and if that means playing charades, so be it. They get more expensive as they get older. The present size shrinks but the price ticket gets higher.

Besides, in my head we are all much more Zsa Zsa than Ivana, darling.

My Auntie sent £10 to share between the children, but I'm taking the executive decision to buy a game of jenga instead of sweets as she suggested. They have a set for £10.99 in TRU at the moment.

    Bob

Hi Bob, just on the off chance you haven't bought the jenga yet - it's 6.99 in Argos if you have one nearby :)
Let’s just pretend I have not been alternately drowning in debt or only eating toast to try and pay it off for the last 20 years 😭

Thanks Kirsty! I haven't. And was going to go there for the set of hair clippers my OH wants (which he will use to cut hair of the whole family) and I have a £5 off voucher curtsey of Mr S, so good to know:T

  • Bah to payers, I would n't dream of hiring somewhere and then not paying on the day of booking, and definitely agreed about people being quirky at times. Sometimes in my job I have to so diplomatic when all I want to do is tell them to get on with it, mainly about working hours - some staff don't know what a hard days work is!

I have really cut back on presents this year, just looking forward to spending time with family and eating plenty!

    Good Morning

A productive day so far. I have:
    * Signed and got OH to sign, the mandate forms First Direct need to open our new JA. Will post them in a short while.
    * Signed and put in DS school bag a school trip permission form for next term.
    * Written out my remaining Christmas cards. I haven't bought any new ones this year. I used up some charity freebie address stickers as well.
    *Checked banking
    * Entertained DD
    * Done the morning whirl round so the place is straight
    * Got out our new 2017 wall planner and began marking dates on it (free via a magazine that seems to still keep sending me subs despite it being years since I cancelled)

Need to go out in a bit. Need 7 stamps.

Have sausages out for tea. May do a sausage pesto pasta bake.

I was delighted to find a £1 coin last night, in the dark! Bob's x-ray vision strikes again :) & oddly 5p that someone had left on a shelf in Mr T. It was not a low shelf so whoever did it must have made that decision consciously. That will pay for at least 1 of the stamps I need :)

    Hi Huggle
You snuck in whilst I was posting, hello:)
Yes there are definitely some dodgy people out there. But some good ones too. Must be annoying having to crack whip over people too. I feel the same as you, I'm deploying levels of diplomacy that should earn me a place at the Ambassador's Soiree, and definitely one of them fancy chocolates he is so fond of :rotfl:
Hope your Christmas is merry and bright.
