    Morning All

Yesterdays to do list was a little underachieveing. But I did manage to write a long letter and go through my ebay postage reciept pile and check on the royal mail postage tracker that all parcels had been delivered. So thats another stack of paperwork that can go in the recycling.

I ended up having a chat with the Dad who brought my son back from the playdate yesterday. He was interested in space for a kids street art class and thought my rate was reasonable. He thought once a month might be doable. Plus he was very knowledgable on the area my business is in as they live there. I did laugh and apologise for doing business on a playdate but men have been doing it on the golfcourse for years so why not :)

Hoping that tommorow will see us complete on the new mortgage so I can plan our financies for the month. At present we either have another £300 to find, or have £300 extra. I know which scenario Im hoping for. It wont be extra really anyway as it will go towards the business rent. But thats still better in my pocket.

I think today will involve a trip to the park, grabbing a loaf from Mr T, & then home again. OH is due back around 8pm if trains are ok.

Right all on with the show.

    Bob

I hope the little one is feeling better today, horrible when then kids are poorly, best wishes for father in law too.

The business sounds like it's going from strength to strength, you obviously have a good reputation so this is being reflected in the amount of interest and bookings.

Enjoy your time at the park and getting dh back later.

    Morning all (just)

Feeling very tired. Yesterday was pretty hard and today hasnt been any better. DD is obviously going through some developmental change or illness and has just given up napping. Yeaterday she slept a total of 30 minutes the entire day. In two bursts. Today she has been up since 6am with no sign of a nap.
In the meantime I have started to feel ill, sore scratchy throat and blocked head and nose. Put it this way we have all already been to the post office and back and I just had my breakfast....

I was pleased to turn on my phone to a business enquiry but it turned out to be a duff. However I am due to meet the artist I have mentioned a few times tonight & show her around the space.
I feel really nervous now. Dont know if its just the illness talking but it feels so important to land this booking and I just feel so worried she wont see past the fact it needs painting and still has stuff in there from the old usage. I have explained that already but my inner demon is telling me of course she wont want it. Shes a proper artist etc used to galleries.
Gah. Need to get a grip.
OH got home at 10pm last night exhausted but having seen his Dad return home again. I had almost passed out by which point with the baby upstairs whilst my son stayed up to welcome him home. Feels terrible parenting/wifeing but I am exhausted.

Baby Bob is at the age where she is on her feet surfing the furniture so I am hovvering inches behind her at all times. If she doesnt start daytime napping again soon I wont be able to get a thing done on the business at all this summer. Maybe a coffee will cheer me up?

    Miserably, Bob

oh bob - you are NOT doing bad parenting/wifing at all. Many a time I have promised dd that she can stay up until x o'clock to welcome daddy or me home, only to have it extended by hours. It is holiday for ds, so not so bad as school evenings.

Hope the artist is lovely and that you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear that you're feeling run down, not surprising given the amount you do coupled with dd not sleeping well. I remember my ds was terrible at sleeping and I would go to work exhausted, luckily I had a lovely boss at the time who let me work from home at times so I could catch up!

Hope you've had a lovely relaxed day xx

Thanks Apple. That makes me feel better. And the artist cancelled by the way. But it looks like being rescheduled for the weekend.

    Morning All

I didnt get chance to get back on yesterday in the end. Highlights were
    - I grabbed the laptop and did 45 mins work whilst DD slept. I didnt want to move her into her cot just in case so I just stayed with her to work.
    - DS has discovered a rope swing on a tree near us. So we went on it 3 times yesterday. He was having so much fun.
    - We managed 2 hours in our local park which has a trim trail, playground and green gym. DS climbed some trees and DD pottered around the playground. Only issue was stopping her picking up little stones and tree bark which lines the playground.
    - Really nice catch up with OH about the weekend on both sides. Chilled out dinner which was sausage pasta with loads of veg. We have almost eaten up all the leftovers that came home from the shop now. Which is good. OH is taking a box today.
    - Our broker thinks having spoken to our case handler we will get the new mortgage sorted before the 6th. Which is such good news.

I dont feel as bad today either. AND DD is having a nap still so I have eaten breakfast and about to have a cup of coffee all without a small person climbing all over me. Result!

The local newspaper we are advertising in goes out at the end of this week. Its very exciting but also scary. I was having such a ramble to OH last night about it all. I was thinking how great it would be to get one of the artists collectives locally to 'adopt us' as a location for monthly exhibitions. Some of these groups have up to 30 members. The group acts as a front who bargains on behalf of its members. If you find the right person to speak to you could have your fixed overheads sorted for months on end..which frees you up to focus on new business from a less stressful place. Gotta keep on that.

Right. Coffee to drink. And a quick look at threads.

    Morning Bob,
Glad you are feeling a bit better. Feeling exhausted and doing what works for you does not equal bad parenting! If bad parenting was doing what everyone thinks you should do according to the book, then I failed big time because I went against every written word and bit of sage advice from health visitors/childcare experts in DS's early years - long story- but he seems to have turned out OK;)

The artist/s group sounds like a great lead! They don't all look for gallery-like space - sometimes the smaller informal venues work better for them because they are less intimidating, and make it easier to build relations with potential customers! I know several people who have a smaller spaces they exhibit in - some just a converted shed in someone's garden! To have overheads covered with a regular booking would be wonderful - keeping fingers crossed for you :)

    Rope swings :j

    Have a lovely day

Thanks NOA :) Its so nice to come on and read your nice reply. And very much so about the artists too. I think I will settle down once I actually meet them, easy to let nerves get to you isnt it. Sounds like there may be a bit of a story about DS? Feel free to share. See you later :)
