    Morning waves

School run done. Dramas that DSs new trainers didnt fit but DH spent the bus ride tightening them up and all was well. Walked 20 mins or so back to the main road as the little shuttle buses are so infrequent and often rammed.
Have rung accountant to iron out why I was recieveing scary letters (nothing to worry about) DD flat out asleep in buggy and Im off to do some banking. Then home.
Should have another £50 turning up today from another event deposit. Will pay my business water bill later too.

Humm today feels like it was spent on the bus! I think I gave up counting on bus ride number 7. Had a good meeting with the gallery owner but in some ways it left me feeling overloaded with ideas of what I still need to do. Following on from that I had a conversation with my sons new teacher that made me feel accutely aware of how much time on line son has been allowed this summer. So we've had to have a huge discussion tonight which ended in tears (his) & me feeling very rubbish for allowing the situation to develop. But ultimately we can rescue things and hopefully the increased workload at school and new friends will help to take his mind off it all.
I think its one of those days where you question whether it is possible to have two working parents and still raise happy well adjusted children. Ah well no time for a pity party. All is calm for the moment.

Bob, My two have spent far too much time online this holidays as we were so busy with the refurb. I've had some tears and tantrums from them too, its been hard getting them back into routine.
Hopefully as you say new workload and friends will help distract.

Thanks Legomum for the empathy. I know I am not a terrible parent by any means but I do feel so overstretched at the moment. Im sure all the work you did cant have exactly been a picnic either.

    Hi All

Bit of a bad nights rest. Was lying awake after midnight mulling and then DS came in around 5am unable to sleep. Still I have seized the bull by the horns and already been shopping and now have taken a bus to the library where we are sitting waiting in the gardens for it to open. Im going low cost and printing out some very basic home made flyers today and as I have a tradesman coming to the shop to do an expensive (boo) repair I thought it would be better if I was able to get to him quick if he calls plus take advantage of being out and about and putting up the leaflets.
OH might be able to do the school run if the guy is running late. No specific time just 9am to 2pm.
Back at the shop tonight for a view so at some point will be making a fish pie to use up leftover tin of sardines, some anchovies as well as new stuff.
Right library open so off I toddle.

So unhappy. Just after I posted this morning my phone was stolen. The person who did it took full advantage of the fact I was an exhausted mum with a small baby trying desperately to do the things that normally are very easy. Like print a flyer. Take out a book. Go to the toilet. I am now down 1 smart phone so have that to replace as no insurance.
And the repair today came to almost £200 and that wasnt even with the part the engineer recommended I would need (that would have taken the bill to nearly £500 in total)

I just feel like giving up.

Oh Bob I'm so sorry for you. Rubbish things always seem to come at the same time. Is it worth talking to your phone supplier and see if the can do you a deal so you might have to sign up to a new contract but it would mean you won't have to stump up the cost of a phone upfront. Keep smiling. Have a doggy hug :grouphug:

  • Hello, I'm a long time lurker on the NST thread. I'm very sorry to read that your phone was stolen.

I've just swapped my mobile phone and wondered if you wanted my old one. The power switch is temperamental so it can take a few goes to switch on and off, which I confess is annoying, but otherwise it's fine. I realise this is not an ideal replacement but I just wondered if it might tide you over a few months until you get something newer. If it doesn't suit you, feel free to sell it - I don't want any money for it.

It's a HTC One mini which takes a micro SIM.

Drop me a PM with your address if you would like it and let me know if you would need a charger too. I think a lot of Android phone chargers are compatible but it wouldn't charge with an Apple phone charger. I won't be offended if you don't want it!

    Best wishes
