    Refer to post #2.

I'll assist with Rosetta Stone when you get to that point.
Your two options with which to begin is either to clone the HP HDD to the SSD, adapting the partitions as necessary or simply running a clean install with Windows 10 media to the SSD, entering the Windows 8.1 key. Then you reinstall your programs..that work with Windows 10.

You can use the Product Key Viewer to retrieve the key.

Hi, do you mean clone the Inspiron HD drive to the SSD drive ? and how do I adapt the partitions. Thanks

No, that is not what I mean. Read my replies again...more thoroughly.

OP, I suggest giving up on the idea of cloning the boot drive of the Intel-based Dell Inspiron 530 and using on the AMD-based HP Pavilion 550-082na. The chance of Windows booting is close to zero.

If the OP doesn't want to give up on the idea in the first instance he can test to see if the cloned drive will boot by simply substituting the HDD from the HP for the one in the DELL and then switching off Secure Boot and enabling Legacy Mode. If it then boots up then the cloning will likely work. If it doesn't, move to plan B.

Hi, I just want to use the SSD as the boot drive and load Windows 10 onto this, also load Office and a few main programs I use, I will then use the 1TB HD drive purely for storage, once I have everything transferred over onto the new SSD and the new HD I will have no need for the Inspiron and its HD drive

According to Microsoft, you have just two days to do so. You should get on with it.

I have fired up the HP computer which came with Windows 8 and this automatically uploaded windows 10 so that is now running fine, I fitted the SSD into the HP, I tried

On the Dell I have Windows 7 and have the original windows disc for 32bit and 64bit, the Dell is running 32 bit, I therefore tried to load windows 7 onto the SSD in order that I could then update it, but although I altered the BIOS to load from the CD it wouldn't do it ?

I have also now updated the DELL to Windows 10 and that is finishing soon as the "free upgrade" finishes tomorrow, so I thought if this saga runs for another year, at least both computers are running Windows 10

I have the original 300gb hard drive with all my documents, photos, and programs still in the DELL and this has Acronis 2013, as well as the windows 7 boot up, but now all I want to achieve is to get the SSD in the HP to boot up with windows 10 and copy or image everything from my DELL HD over to the HP 1TB hard drive

Do I need to load Acronis onto the DELL, I have made an Acronis rescue disc ? or is there a simpler way of getting the Wiindows 10 operating system or the Windows 8 which came already installed on the computer, or the Windows 7 disc onto the SSD so at least that part is done ? thanks

Install Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 cleanly to the SSD in the HP.

Use ShowKeyPlus to retrieve the product keys and edition installed.

You can put the HP machine back to it's UEFI default and instead install Windows 8.1 from boot using bootable USB Flash media created from Windows 8.1 English International 64 bit
Download and save and then use Windows 7 image burner to burn the image to DVD or use Rufus in conjunction with a 8GB or more USB Flash drive.

    In order to install:
Turn on your PC so that Windows starts normally, insert the DVD or USB flash drive, and then shut down your PC.
Restart your PC, and then press any key to boot from the DVD or USB flash drive. ...
On the Install Windows page, enter your language and other preferences, and then tap or click Next....

Once done, we can do a quick upgrade to Windows 10 if that is what you want.
Then to moving your stuff over.

    Hi Nifty

I don't know whats happening with the Windows 10 browser, not impressed, I posted a reply to you earlier which clearly hasn't been posted ?

I have finally got the Dell updated to Windows 10 and am currently downloading the program image burner and the Windows 8 download, I havent burnt an image yet, but will give it a go. I obviously need to go into the HP Bios settings to change the machine to UEFI default, hopefully that will not be too difficult, do I need to remove the SSD sata etc or can I leave this connected up, it boots to the 1TB drive it cam in, as obviously the SSD doesn't boot, and when I try to boot, do I need to remove the sata and power from the usual HP drive and just leave the SSD drive connected and change the boot order to boot from the USB or CD depending what the image is burnt too ? sorry if these sounds a bit simple, but its a new world for me. Thanks

If you need the Dreamweaver installer and/or product key then depending on which version you have Belarc may give you the key and ProDesignTools may have direct download links to the installer on Adobe's website.
