  • I was thinking about purchasing GHD's and followed a thread on MSE leading me to purchase these from Amazon at £34.99

I have to say they are amazing! Argos have them on offer at moment, but still more expensive than Amazon!

Read the reviews, they are all true!

I have these and GHD and the GHD win every time. I have found nothing that I like as much as GHD. It does depend on your hair though, the babyliss ones do give a good result.
  • So many GHD's fans! I have only ever borrowed a pair and tbh wasn't that impressed, IMHO my babyliss pro 230's (£30) are the absolute best straighteners I have ever used. I bought them on the advice of people on this website and I absolutely love them. GHD's last a few years if you're lucky and are stupidly priced. My Babyliss Pro 230's have a cordless function, heat up superfast and have tourmeline plates which are awesome. I love them.

BUY BABYLISS PRO 230'S AND KEEP YOUR ENTERTAINMENT FUND INTACT!

EDIT: just realised IoweIoweitsofftoworkIgo has recommended the same ones. Trust us OP they are fab!
why be a song, when you can be a symphony?
  • Thanks a everyone. Looks like the Ghd's win ,
I think christmas will have to come early this year. Better get some overtime organised or no vino for several months
Proud to be dealing with my debts.

2011 WILL be a good year!

I have some Remington's and they're absolutely fantastic. They're several years old, and they're still fine, whereas most GHDs seem to develop a fault after a year. My girlfriend tried them and loves them too, and is now buying her own.

My sister has the next model up, and hers came with a free heatproof bag which is so useful when you need to put them away quickly before waiting for them to cool down.

I agree, I've got curly hair and the GHD's I borrowed to try were useless. I have the Babyliss ones and they are great, I also have some vidal sasson ionic ones which are good too, but not as good as the babyliss.

    Save your money.
  • I agree with the other reccomendations for the Babyliss Pro 230's.

My GHD's broke and I needed a new pair urgently so bought a pair of the 230 Elegance for £49.99 in Argos last week. The easily rival GHD in fact I love them, my hair is poker straight in seconds, fab buy!!!
Any spelling mistakes are entirely on purpose to check you're paying attention :p

GHDs are all hype! i used to cover staff breaks on the electrical dept that sold this sort of stuff, the resident store experts and a LOT of women said GHDs are far too overpriced and not the best thing out there!
its the biggest/most obvious brand and trades on its name. i would definately check out some of those alternatives (and odds are that either your wife or daughter might even prefer the new model and willingly relinquish the old GHDs!)
