Are GHD hair dtraighteners worth the money?

Hi
I really want some new slimline hair straighteners (my current ones are the thick sort).
My hairdresser is selling GHD ones for £115, but I am worried because it is a lot of money.
Has anyone found any other makes that are cheaper and equally as good? Or is it a case of 'you get what you pay for'?

When I had long hair I swore by ghds... i tried a million and one other brands, but they really were the best.. my hair was always silky soft and glassy, and they heat up really really quickly.. I know its a lot of money, but they really are worth it..You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

I swear by my GHDs too. Have tried several but not found a set as good as GHDs.
Try looking on ebay

Same here - I swear by them. I had long thick hair and I do mine in 10 mins - it used to take me much longer with my old ones and my hair was never half as straight as it is now0

yeah worth every penny, they heat up in like 5 secs, really fantastic. My mate has really curly hair and when she uses her ghds, her hair stays straight even after a nights sleep.0

Like the other's I've tried loads of different straighteners and I would never swap from GHD. I've now had my set for almost 3 years and they're still going strong.0

Ask frizz_head,she's the expert about these:D0

they do last for years and years so although initially expensive you'll save money in the long run, and eventually your hair starts to get a bit straighter from it too - I used to have to spend ages sorting all the sections out for straightening but now I can just fly through it. You'll love them!0

They are fantastic and worth every penny!! I've got 2 pairs cos I love them so much and would panic if one pair broke and didnt have a back-up pair!0

just to agree with everyone else on here. I bought some ghd's for my daughter as a crimbo prezzie. She has thick hair & she previously had a pair of andrew collinge ones. the comparrison is not even close. The ghd's glide thru her hair & they are the only ones the hairdressers (around here) will use. if you look online like i did you can pick them up for around £80-90. happy hairdressing!0

ditto what everyone else says, if I go anywhere they are the first things I pack, I couldn't survive without mine :eek:ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0
