I was in a Regis hair salon today and they have £20 off the GHDs if you trade in your old straighteners. I've had a look on the GHD website and I can't see anything about it there, but I know they've had it on before at registered GHD stockists.

I always swore by my GHD's as I too have thick unruly hair but then they broke and I couldn't afford to buy another pair. I got the Remington ones and they were just as good. I've bought some Remington wet to dry too and they are just as good and I don't have to sit forever drying my hair too :)

hi, bought my daughter a pair of pink ghds last december, thought they were bloomin pricey but I have saved about £100+ on the fact that she had her hair straightened every 2 weeks at the hairsalon more if she had shows/going out. so overall a fab investment, she has hair thats so thick hairdressers faint but ghds makes it look great!

  • Personally, I wouldn't risk them again, or maybe just not HAIRSTRAIGHTENERS365. Had mine for 4 days and they stopped working and surprise surprise, hairstraighteners365 have passed the buck.

I'm putting my vote in for Babyliss pro 230's - I bought some last year when I lost my GHD's & in my opinion they are better
    - My hair feels a lot softer after using them (but still as straight)
    - You can pick them up for around £30 so a lot less £££..
    - They have some wizzy new tourmaline technology which GHD's still dont use..
    - I got loads of compliments about the condition of my hair when I started using them.. (although admittedly everyone had got used to me with wild crazy hair!)

Found my GHD's 2 months ago but haven't used them!

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Clareyp, Babyliss pro 230's are the best straighteners i've ever used by an absolute mile, WAY better than GHD's and mine were £30. I can't believe there are so many GHD fans on here, everyone I know who has them thinks they're totally rubbish, and have lasted 2 years max.

Babyliss pro 230's all the way! :j:j:j:j:j

    depends on your hair type

I have very thick curly long hair

I had Remington Wet2Straights wide plate which were very good but take a long time to do the job.

I now have GHD's wide plate and not only do they they straighten faster, but my hair is softer with them and the effect lasts longer and my hair is straighter.

They are amazing and I could not use anything else now.

I've tried so many different hair straightners, but GHD's have been the best for me. Although that's very closely followed, bizarely, by Tesco ones that cost about £20!! Infact when I first got my GHD's I favoured the Tesco ones over them for a few weeks:rotfl:I've got really thick hair that's very wavey but GHD's sort it out in about 20 minutes, and its still straight after a nights sleep if the right products are used on it. However, my sister has shorter fine hair and finds GHD's are absolute rubbish on her, they just make her hair frizz, so they aren't right for everyone! Maybe try a pair out before investing in them:D
