got mine from denise 853b on ebay mark 4 delivered for £99 fab0

I borrowed straighteners from friends to test them out LOL. Vidal Sassoon were the best, Remington came second. I don't rate GHDs at all, I had to keep going over and over my hair til it was straight. I go over my hair once with the VS ones, they heat to 210 degrees in seconds.Bulletproof0

Up until a month ago I would have said yes they're worth it but mine broke and I couldn't afford to replace them so got a pair of Remington ones in Argos reduced from €50 to €25(about £15) and think they're fab. Definitely as good as the GHD's if not better(and I never thought I'd have said that)0

I have ones that look like ghd, and are exactly the same. I got mine for £30 off ebay, make is "she". They are just as good, had 2 pairs of GHDs previously until the last broke and couldnt afford a new pair, would never go back to ghds with these exactly the same but cheaper0

Be very careful if ordering from Beautysleuth! They may have the best prices, but that's compensated with their customer service.
I tried ordering my GHDs from their website.... when the confirmation email came through, it was for a bunch of completely different items that totalled over £200! Since it was a Saturday night, I emailed back right away trying to cancel this order so I wouldn't be charged for it. I emailed again on Monday morning, and also phoned through to cancel it. Monday afternoon it was sent anyway, and my card was charged over £200. It took over two weeks to receive a refund from them - and even then, they refused to refund me the postage, claiming that they hadn't received any of my emails (even though they've replied to some of them).
I've now filed a complaint against them with Trading Standards to get the postage back, but it's been a very long process, and I'm still out of pocket and don't have any straighteners!
Their website talks about their fantastic customer service, but all you have to do is talk to one of their defensive and moody representatives on the phone to know this just aint so! Stay away!!!!!
Anyone have any suggestions of what company to try next? I really want my straighteners!!!0 -
I'm looking at buying another pair of GHDs. I've got the wide plate ones atm but want to get the new MK4 GHDs standard size. I think I am going to purchase mine from Shear Beauty.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

i did recently get an email from lookfantastic that had something about ghd special offers, but i didn't check the details so i don't know whether they give the best value. i got 'she' ones off ebay which are essentially the same as the older ghds - i'm happy with them as i couldn't afford to spend double the amount. but i did love my ghds *sigh*:happyhear0 -
I wanted a pair of GHD's but couldnt justify the cost - I now own a pair of GHS which were £30 and are exactly the same as ghd - rumour has it that years ago there were 2 partners who designed the GHD's but they fell out - they both had the designs but one had the money to promote GHD but the other didnt until a few years ago and he made GHS.
You order them online and there is a 14 day moneyback guarantee so if they arent as good as you thought, send them back and spend over £100 on GHD!!!

mine even came with a free heat resistant travel pouch, 2 clips and a comb!0 -
Tried them all, did a lot of posts on this last year. I have evil hair and I've tried all the so called decent ones on the market. Nothing comes close to GHD (I have very thick frizzy yet flyaway hair) if I didn't have mine I wouldn't leave the house.Fr. Stack: While you were out, I got the keys to your car. And drove it into a big wall. And if you don't like it, tough. I've had my fun, and that's all that matters.0

My hairdresser daughter recently bought some Look Fantastic Tourmeline ceramic straighteners from lookfantastic.com.
They heat to 230 degrees and cost £29.99. She says they're great and as good as GHDs but not quite as quick to heat up (though they're still quick).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
