Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 2 - Groundhog Day

Morning all :hello: :coffee:
I gave in last night and took one of my ultra migraine tablets that just completely knock me out. Result is that I slept from half nine until half six with just one toilet trip and I was up and back to sleep again within minutes. I feel groggy this morning, but always do after those tablets, but it was worth it to get enough sleep for the first time in almost a fortnight.
It was really grey, cold and misty this morning, but that seems to have gone and the sun is shining, which always helps. I have a full teaching day today, plus a load of marking to do, plus a meeting after work and then ds swimming later tonight. Another busy one for me.
Yesterday ended up being quiet. I went to visit my mam with the kids and we were there for a few hours. Got home and dh was still in bed so I got him up, but he's definitely not right. I'm letting him know I'm there for him but leaving him to it. There's only so much I can ever do for him when he's on the downward spiral - and I'm pretty full on busy myself at the moment. I was exhausted when I got home from my mam's house so I asked him if we could put off going out for dinner - I suspect to the relief of both of us. We got takeaway in instead and I spent the evening 'watching' the footy with him whilst getting myself in a right mood with a tangled ball of wool. I was on with it for over an hour last night, half an hour before work this morning and it's still more than half tangled. Grrr.
As I suspected, my health isn't good at the moment. I have a sore throat and a cough which is just aggravating me enough to make me uncomfortable at work but not enough for a day off. Not that I want a day off at the moment - it's way too busy here to even think about. Not giving up

Didn't get my marking finished
But I did get that ball of wool untangled. :j It took me 4 hours in total over 2 days and 4 separate sessions. I'm not a quitter.
Started the big monthly online shop ready for Friday - we're getting desperately short of stuff I don't buy regularly - like coffee and binbags.
No crochet done tonight either. It felt like forever getting that ball of wool sorted. Followed by ds 'accidentally' spilling a whole pint of juice in the car. Eyeroll. Not giving up

Impressed with your determination on the ball of wool.
Hope you're feeling better today too.0 -
Evening everyone :hello: :coffee:
Gosh I've had a busy month and it's really not showing any signs of stopping. I'm desperate for the Easter hols to tick round so that I can have a break and some extra sleep. I feel as though I have a list as long as my arm of things I need to do and I need to get on and do something.
Work is busy but still good. The new Head has made a massive improvement to my mental health just by appreciating me as I am, doing what I do. I had an observation today, and whilst I've had no feedback yet I'm not stressing and panicking like I used to. Although, both head of department and second in department are out tomorrow, which kind of leaves me in charge - and that is a bit stressy within itself, because I am a regular classroom teacher but will be taking on any extras as needed. Thankfully I feel ok about asking for help further up if I need it.
Unfortunately my insomnia is back full throttle and I just can't seem to get an unbroken night of sleep. I've tried all of my usual techniques but can't get a hang on it at the moment. I will just have to ride it through for the moment and hope that it passes quickly.
Other than that, still nothing much to report. Life is good, but so very busy. Not giving up

Great to hear life is good for you CCL just now and long may it continue. I hear you on the flipping insomnia front and you have my greatest sympathies. As someone who couldn't be roused in the not so distant past I don't get why if I wake up for a call of nature at say 2.00 am I can't get back to sleep. I used to have a cat I cuddled but sadly she passed last year and a snoring DH doesn't cut it! Take care and roll on Easter.Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

I have hurt my finger. It sounds silly but so sore - kind of jammed it in a cupboard door. It's not really swollen or bruised but if I touch it at all I feel sick because it hurts so much. I can't hold a pen to write (so no marking!) and typing is now having to be done differently.
Work was fine - I was grumpy with my sore finger, and I had a few behaviour issues to deal with, but I managed. Just falling behind on marking a bit at the moment which will start stressing me out very soon. Also had a visit from one of my lovely Year 10 girls - she had made me a lemon cheesecake for my birthday tomorrow. It really made my day, and it tastes blimming fantastic!
Struggling more with ds and his current attitude than work.
And the insomnia - 5 hours of sleep over 3 sessions last night.
But still feeling fine, and I've enjoyed the last day of my 30's.
I will check in tomorrow as a 40 year old.Not giving up

Bless you that sounds so painful! Poor thing.
The lemon cheese cake sounds amazing though and how lovely of your student to do that.
Shall we all ask you feel any different tommorow, like you do with kids? Or shall we pretend you are 39 again" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
