How did the bag and dress come into contact?

Bag carried over shoulder and therefore in contact with the side of the body and the dress. Bag carried in one hand would also come into contact with the side of the body and the dress.

I wanted the answer from the horses mouth, not an unconnected third party. Doesn't look like I will get it though.

How else does a handbag come into contact with clothing? It's hardly a guess - it's based on decades of experience as a handbag carrying female.

    Why?
A quick look in any shopping centre or high street will reveal dozens, if not hundreds of handbag wielding females (and if you are in Brighton, quite a few males as well) and unless you are blind, it will be blatantly obvious how handbags and dresses make contact with each other.

Are the hand bag toting males wondering around in dresses as well? That's Brighton I suppose :)

Well I'm not sure how you carry your handbag, but it is hard not to make contact with clothing.

Holding it out in front of you looks daft. Or perhaps you have been watching Legally Blonde a few too many times...?

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Carrying a £975 bag whilst wearing a £20 dress? Should have bought an almost indistinguishable £20 fake bag.

I don't have a handbag. The last four letters of my username should give you a clue as to why.

I asked the question because the OP hasn't mentioned stained underwear or stained jackets or stained car seats or stained sofas.

I was interested in how this dress apparently only stained this bag.

If I could afford such a handbag, I certainly wouldn't be cheating on it with inferior handbags...

When walking, the bag rubs back and forth on your clothes, so I assume this action would cause dye to transfer. To get the same affect on a sofa or car seat, you would have to find a light coloured one, then wiggle your bottom from side to side say 1000 times.

I believe man-bags are all the rage nowadays...
