Wow I'm overwhelmed by the responses. I'm new to the site so I can't figure out how to do a multi-post response!

I've been put off getting her a pandora bracelet, which is fair enough. I'd say it's a risky one and the Links of London ones look nice. Also I guess I'd be getting her pandora charms every christmas if she had a bracelet :P

Someone mentioned getting a watch which is a good idea! I'm browsing this site right now: houseofwatches.co.uk/ladies-watches/

Are Michael Kors watches still in fashion?
I don't know about 'still in fashion' but there does seem to be a lot of MK fakes around, especially bags and purses.

Personally, I'd prefer a good watch from a long standing watch manufacturer which is why I mentioned Citizen & Seiko.
The Ecodrive & Solar models are powered by light so never need batteries replacing.
I have a number of each and my OH has had an Ecodrive for 10 years.

We've bought recently from Chapelle and First Class Watches and I got a good deal on an Ecodrive at Ernest Jones on-line half price.

If you find a watch you like, google the model number and see what deal you can get.

The disadvantage of buying online is the issue of the strap fitting if it's a link bracelet.
Ernest Jones did mine for free when I picked it up and they also kindly did another one I'd bought from Chapelle. They usually charge £20  although you can probably get it cheaper.

The on-line company my OH bought from offer a free sizing service and they send you the links they've removed.

Wouldn't touch MK with a barge pole if I were you, big price tags but tend to look quite cheap and tacky! It doesn't help that there are a lot of fakes knocking about.

    Good luck!

I have a very particular taste in jewellery and generally everybody who has bought me any has largely got it wrong so be careful. I can't stand jangly bangles whixh are a pain if you use a computer keyboard for a living, so another point to bear in mind. Rsther than risk getting it wrong, wouldn,t it be better to let her choose it herself? My husband bought me a ring for a special anniversary and I wore it once to please him but actually I didn,t like it and it's just lurking in its box in a drawer.

Another who hates Pandora and Michael Kors' big, flashy MK. OH insists if buying me Welsh gold, Clogau, which is way over-priced.

A simple bracelet would be good for me. MOP, you have to consider your partners' taste.

I'd go for the Pandora bracelet, don't let the people who don't like them put you off. You can buy a charm every so often, think of all the lovely memories it will bring in later years for your GF. I'd love one, so if she don't like it I'll have it :D My sis recently had one for her birthday, & I got her the phone charm as we live miles apart & always chat on the phone. A real personal gift I think, plus family members can buy charms too & never need worry about what gift to get.

    Don't get a watch either!

A holiday always goes down nice, well with me anyway.

I agree a Pandora bracelet is a great idea - IF that's the OP's partner's style. And he doesn't seem sure it is.

But what if the recipient doesn't like it? How lovely to look forward to receiving more presents over the years of charms you don't want.

One persons favourite piece of jewellery is another's idea of the height of naffness.

I love my Pandora bracelet, you don't Have to put charms on them, although I do.
I would like a Pandora bangle as well. which I would probably keep charm free.
Treat other's how you like to be treated.
