Hold on. I bought a Cadbury's Fudge from my local newsagent this morning but on opening half of it had melted. I think I might sue the b'tards and get my 25p back0

FWIW, I earn more than £42000 per annum. And my field is maths based; so I am well aware that I have already lost more than I stand to gain from this. That isn't the point and it never should be.
It's £2 to me, but scale this up over 10,000 people that apply and do not proceed with the application that's potentially £20k for doing nothing. I happen to know of a few scam companies who sign contract phone numbers up to monthly premium message services, charging £3-4 a time. Most people probably do the same thing and say it isn't worth it, but when I checked with companies house these companies had assets on the hundreds of thousands of pounds. How many people said about the bank charges, "it's only £15, it's not worth it"? How many hundreds of thousands of pounds have since been returned because of that action?
You're making this out as if I'm threatening frivolous law suits for no reason. Experian have had 4 emails and about 40 days in total and are refusing to budge; even though they have no legal basis for holding on to that money to my knowledge.0 -
No, I'm assuming I'm not the only one.
It's irrelevant to my argument anyway.0 -

This was never intended as having a go at you and i wholehartedly apologise if thats how it came across.
Sometimes intentions are lost in text - i was simply trying to point out that its really not worth your time or effort.
I appreciate your stand, and if it means this much to you then good for you, if everyone did the same then they would be in trouble.
But everyone wont.
So whilst you may win your small victory, the company wont care.
Put it to bed and have a nice cup of tea - 2 squid isnt worth your precious time that you could be doing something better with..
Just mumble "gobsh1tes" under your breath, and walk away
Good luck whatever you decide0 -
They haven't done nothing though. They have contacted you and asked for further information that you were unable to provide. £2 seems cheap for that.0

Court fees are added to the claim and recoverable; so not really an issue. Attempting to settle is free and I'm more than happy for them to refund me right now as it still provides a precedent for others to use. If they ignore the LBA they will have costs awarded against them.
Maybe the wrath of the judge will fall on you for wasting the courts valuable time.0 -
