Agree, you two deserve a time together.
However... you'll miss them during the trip and talk about them during the trip. That's just what a being a parent is.0 -
Don't see a problem, if you don't go on holiday with your six year old then it will him/her being excludedLife is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

'You went on holiday without us? That's sooooo unfair!'
'You've been in Crete for a fortnight. Did you want garlic bread with your pizza?'.
Conversation ended.
I'd suggest if funds allowed, a fortnight in Disneyland for the three of you, where it can be all about your LO getting to enjoy Elsa, Olaf, Simba, Tinkerbell or whatever the horrors are that lay in wait for unsuspecting parents over there. After all, they would have been more interested in going off on big rides than the spinning teacups and various princess themed nonsense, so they wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as somebody who's still at the age where it is just magic.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Hmm thanks for all the answers on this I really appreciate the feedback.
I've discussed this openly with my older kids and they are absolutely fine about it, not bothered in the slightest so I was worried for nothing!
We are going to have a holiday purely for my 6 year olds enjoyment as has been suggested. She's not quite into girly stuff but is fascinated by animals, bugs, more bugs, anything crawly like bugs, and fish. So we figured some sort of a safari trip or a trip heavily focussed on exploring nature would be nice. To be honest it would keep me happy too as I feel most at home in forests and by the sea.
I'm not sure this can be a package holiday thing, probably something I'll have to go off the beaten track for.
Any suggestions of interesting destinations that don't have killer snakes, frogs or spiders would be appreciated!I am a Mortgage Adviser
