Note 97 in The Consumer Rights Act Explanatory Notes explains this:97. Subsections (14) and (15) provide that, if a breach of the statutory rights – for example a fault - arises in the first 6 months from delivery, it is presumed to have been present at the time of delivery unless the trader proves otherwise or this presumption is incompatible with the nature of the goods or the particular breach or fault. This applies where the consumer exercises their right to a repair or replacement or their right to a price reduction or the final right to reject. This does not apply where the consumer exercises the short-term right to reject. These subsections correspond to section 48A(3) and (4) of the SGA and section 11M(3) and (4) of the SGSA.0 -

thanks, so as its in 14 days its down to me to prove its faulty. which really shouldn't be a massive issue. withe flight logs and the suggestion made earlier. Assuming I can prove the fault, do i have the right to request a refund as opposed to being forced to accept them sending it for repair?0 -

Yes, in those circumstances you have the right to reject the goods for a full refund. In fact you have 30 days to do this.

thank you very much, so basically as long as i can prove its faulty and not performing as advertised, I have the right to a refund within 30 days and can refuse a repair.....

This is a nice new addition to our statutory rights. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 changed our right to reject something faulty, and be entitled to a full refund in most cases, from a reasonable time to a fixed period (in most cases) of 30 days.0 -

It probably can do 500m in ideal circumstances, but I can't imagine ideal circumstances exist anywhere worth filming. They share (as I recall) the 2.4GHz band with just about everything else from Wi-Fi to microwaves, and that's very very heavily congested. I'd imagine the advert claims a range of UPTO 500m, which would be true.
If they haven't hedged in terms of UPTO's, it's a clear cut case. If you want to keep the device, there are range extenders available, probably just better Wi-Fi antennae, maybe with a booster. May help?0 -

no its clearly a fault.... as im reaching 30m which lets face it is a huge difference. I also have a friend withe the same drone (standard) who in the same conditions/place achieved easily 120m with no loss of signal (probably would go even further but he has a limit set on it)0 -
which model drone was it the 3 or 4? only asking as my son has been looking in jessops at drones0

Sounds like a fault. Can you do an experiment with the friend, and use your controller with his drone, and vice versa? Just to narrow down which part is at fault?
It may also be in interesting to (assuming it's a 2.4GHz or 5GHz model) have a look at the hotspot it creates on an android app like Wifi Analyser - maybe the two units are using different channels with different levels of contention? I have no idea about the devices themselves just looking at it in terms of signals and protocols to see if it helps.0
