Oh many congratulations! I'm so jealous.
What an exscuse to sit around being waited on over the next week or so!
Enjoy him, it goes so fast. My two boys are 13 and 17 and both 6'+ and eat and eat!0 -
Congratulations to all involved!
Have you trained the rest of the household to ensure you get to sit, feet up, sole possession of TV remote & drinks brought while you sit & breastfeed? (One mum I know did & also got her husband to do bathtime - so she had a peaceful halfhour with baby & was then rejoined by clean & well behaved menfolk. I remain Awed.)
Do Not Fret unduly over Christmas this year. Someone else can make & put up decorations, learn to use a slow cooker & so forth. A newborn's mother has one Duty - to survive!0 -
Ahhhh congratulations another beautiful boy!! I love seeing my two boys together I think they will be great friends when older. You've made DS1 a best friend for life. Glad it all went well and quickly with minima induction required. It's amazing what our bodies can do isn't it and men think they rule the world ha ha ha!! Enjoy those snuggles.
Good Luck with the breastfeeding great new he's had the colostrum. Lots of snuggle, skin on skin, oats and fluids should have your milk here in a couple of days. Xxxxemergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£

Thank you for all your lovely messages. Ds2 has been a little poorly, so we had to head back to hospital for a night, but he's doing well now and fingers crossed we're home to stay.
We've had quiet time since getting home again. I've basically in a nice way hinted that we're enjoying time as a family of 4 this weekend and are having a quiet one. It seems to have worked as we've had no visitor requests (other than our parents!). It means we're getting to know our new baby and ds1 is starting to get used to having him around (he's not overly keen and says that he cries too much!!!).
Money wise I've sat down this evening and gone through YNAB and our bank accounts. I've made sure that everything is up to date. The week or so after ds1 was born seemed to be quite expensive. This time, though, we've hardly spent anything! We did pop to Tesco yesterday (first family outing!!) and we did spend more than we usually would on 'popping in', but other than that it all looks good.
But............the car has been playing up. It's been to the garage twice in the past week or two with a couple of different problems. We've had both bills through now, and won't be getting much change from £500. Thankfully I've managed to move a bit of money around so that we can pay it in full without touching a credit card. Ouch, though!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Hi,
Poor ds2, glad he's on the mend.
Well done on the budgeting, you're doing great.
Ouch to the poorly car, fingers crossed it won't give you much more trouble. Xx0 -
Ds2 seems to be doing well. We had the midwife visit this morning and she was happy with him, and he's gained weight which I wasn't expecting! We are bottle feeding now, but he did get a little milk to start from me so I'm happy. He got more than ds1 ever got.
I'm being paid early this month, tomorrow. I've checked pending transactions and it is a nice one! (The nicest one I'm going to get on maternity!!).
My aim by the end of 2016 was to be able to build my emergency fund up to £200 after using all £1000 to pay the early repayment charge on the mortgage. I've checked where we are at the moment, and where we will be after this month's pay, and it looks as if the emergency fund will be up to £500 by the last day of the year :j
We're going to pay the car bill tomorrow to get it out of the way! It means I can then forget about it. It looks like 2017 is going to start out ok financially.........we'll have a little emergency fund behind us, and will have a clear financial plan for my maternity leave. Fingers crossed there are no more surprises!!
I need to read through and catch up with everyone's diaries. The days are blending into each other at the moment with appointments, hospitals and family visits!! Thankfully ds2 is very well behaved (so far) and through the night is waking 3 hourly for feeds, but then sleeping the rest of the night. Other than 2 quick feeds, he went 10:30-7:00 this morning. That I can definitely cope with and I'm having far more sleep now than I did when I was pregnant!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Ahhh that's great news about weight gain - always a bit of a worry. So glad he's thriving and you're getting a bit more sleep.
Also you're finances are looking good too - so well done!0
