MrsSave I found your diary yesterday and have been reading through since - how exciting that you are almost there with DS2. Is the sex still a secret outside of your family?

You seem so organised and on top of things financially, I've subscribed and look forward to your news :)

Hi! I hope I haven't bored you too much!! I'm a complete mixture of utterly excited and super fed up at this point!! I'm completely ready for this little baby now, it just seems that he's not quite ready yet!! Very few people know what we're having. One or two people do, but we haven't really told many people that we know.

Not long now until I can find out whether my wages are going to be correct. We're down to the last few hours.

Today has been a nsd. In fact dh is out working overtime this evening, so will be bringing a few extra pennies home. Tomorrow won't be a nsd. I'm planning on taking ds to soft play for the morning (and may manage a slice of cake there :rotfl: ). It usually costs around £5 for the soft play, cake and a drink....their prices are fab!

Had the slow cooker teriyaki chicken this evening and it was lovely. Got loads left so will definitely be having it tomorrow night (and probably Friday night too!!). Just have to think of different ways to serve it up!

Not boring at all, in fact I've been researching dump bag recipes for an hour after reading your success with them, sounds like a great plan to me!

Hope the money has all worked out for you, guess you know today? How did you serve teriyaki chicken last time? Can you serve it in some wraps kind of like crispy duck? Or added to a veggie stir-fry?

Enjoy your cake at the soft play, you need to keep your strength up for the labour ;)

I'm loving the dump bags! I always found if I batch cooked and froze leftovers, then I very rarely ate them. I didn't find that they tasted as good reheated. Doing these dump bags, everything is cooked for the first time.....I much prefer them!

I've checked my pending transactions. My wages aren't what I thought they should be, but aren't as bad as they could have been! Hopefully my pay slip will be delivered today so I can see what they've done, though it looks like I'm being paid 1 week of maternity leave this month instead of 2. If I'm right, it will mean that January pay will be a little better, and that I'll have an extra week's pay in August. We'll see.

I've worked our December budget out using the actual figures and it doesn't look too bad. It just depends now on extra spends due to Christmas/baby. I haven't included the extra money dh will be getting for the overtime he's doing. That should be in by the end of the next week. I though I'd split it 50/50 between savings and treat money.

I still plan to get my emergency fund back up to at least £200 by New Year's Eve!

Right, I'd better get breakfast in me and ds, and then head to soft play for the morning.

Sorry Katzen.....think we posted the same time and I missed your last message! Served the teriyaki chicken with rice and veg the first night, and then Thursday night in a pitta bread with corn on the cob and roasted sweet potato. Yum!

My stomach is aching today. I hope that's a sign. I'm seeing everything as a sign though!! I am shattered today, but that could be more to do with the staying up late for my Christmas Tesco delivery slot! :rotfl: All booked, just need to see what we actually need now!!

Ds and dh have gone to rugby, and then they're going shopping this afternoon! I assume Christmas shopping, so a quiet day for me! We're going out for the day tomorrow to ds's favourite place, and it will involve a lot of walking so I'm hoping that gets this baby thinking of moving!

My payslip arrived yesterday. I have been paid one week of maternity instead of the 2 I thought I'd be getting. It does mean August will be better, as it looked very tight, and now I'll have an extra week of maternity pay in there! :j At least they have moved me onto maternity pay, so things look like they'll work out!!

I'm pleased to say that Black Friday meant very little spending for me! I set up a nowtv account on the Xbox, and paid £5 for 2 full months of sky movies. I also bought ds a new pair of school trousers yesterday as his are all too short now, except for 1 pair. £3 plus delivery. Bargain! He brought a letter home from school yesterday for hi son first school trip to see a Christmas show. I'm actually quite nervous about him going! I know that's mad.......especially being a teacher myself. He's still little, though! The show/bus costs £5 so I've put that to one side ready for him to take in on Monday.

Tomorrow's day out is being paid for with Tesco vouchers. We just have to find extra for a visit to Santa. I think that's £8, but we put money aside each month for 'Christmas Activities' so that will come from there. I'm not sure what to do about lunch, though. It's going to be cold, so a hot lunch is tempting, but a picnic will be far cheaper! Will have a think today!

That's good that the maternity pay has worked out well for you. Enjoy your quiet day today. I can't believe Santa is £8! My DS is still a bit little, he knows who Santa is but no idea why he's important. I think if we made him sir of some strangers knew he'd be terrified so we are going to buck the trend slightly and not bother until he's old enough to ask.

Do you have a thermos? Can you take soup for a picnic? Even if it's just enough for a mug each to go with sandwiches, it'll be nice and warming. Or hot choc for everyone? We had our first gingerbread lattes today, it's starting to feel like Christmas:)

I know! I hope the gift is good!! There's mince pies and mulled wine for the adults (though I can't drink any!!). We usually take him somewhere nice to see Santa, last year on a steam train (which cost a lot more), but didn't want to book anything in advance in case we couldn't make it this year. I don't blame you waiting until he's older though!

We've decided to go with the picnic option. Ds and dh popped to Tesco to pick up a few 'treat' things as a compromise to go in our bag. Will still cost less than buying food there.

Someone I know who is due after me has had her baby today. I must admit I cried when I found out, and then felt really guilty about it. I'm so pleased for her, it's just my hormones. It reminds me of first time around, when a few people were due just after me, and they all had their babies before me. There was a group of us all pregnant at the same time, I was due first and had baby last! Ah well, baby will come when he's ready. Though I'm wondering if tonight's curry will help??!! :rotfl:

I'm due next week so still a little early. How is the little one Hannah? How's your eldest adapting to life with a baby brother? I hope you're feeling ok!

I've hardly slept a wink all night. A bad throat started with me during the evening and it's so sore! At least I managed to catch up on a little sleep during the day yesterday! Hopefully plenty of fresh air and plenty of walking will help with a good night's sleep tonight instead!!
