No. Claim on your travel insurance.0

Did you take out insurance as this is why it is needed and by rights a charge back on the credit card should not be issued as the holiday took place, You cannot expect to have the holiday refunded over luggage !!0

This should be covered by your Travel Insurance not your Credit CardNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Lost baggage is subject to compensation rules which forms part of your contract for travel.
The airline should compensate you for a lost suitcase provided you follow the correct reporting procedures. What you get is very small. If they don't meet their obligations, then S75 would "cover" you to this extent only.
But for proper cover, it's an insurance issue.0 -
How did Thomson lose your case when they don't have staff at airports apart from the reps who only meet you and direct you to the coach or departure desk depending on whether you are arriving or departing?
It's either their agents or airport staff who handle your luggage.
Did you report it at the airport ?
If not your insurance won't pay out, I assume you did have insurance. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Hi all, this is the part where I look incredibly stupid, I thought we were insured with our bank account but it appears we're only insured for European travel, yes I know we should have checked first. We're insured now so if we have any problems from here on and we've had quite a few so far we're insured. The travlator was broken at Birmingham and they manually put the cases or supposedly put them on, 5 other people lost their luggage also. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. You should have reported it lost at the airport, then they should have told you to get essentials, given you a budget and keep receipts for reinbursement. You shouldn't have needed travel insurance for this part.
Travel insurance might have had more generous limits and allowed you to claim the difference between what the people who lost your bag paid out and what you spent.0 -
What relevence is this?
Their contract is with the tour operator not any subcontractors including airport staff.Grumpelstiltskin wrote: »How did Thomson lose your case when they don't have staff at airports apart from the reps who only meet you and direct you to the coach or departure desk depending on whether you are arriving or departing?
