  • Thank you for your input, does anyone else have any advice or a different opinion to add to my dilema?
  • My update so far!

I have applied to Halifax for their credit card (as it has the longest Balance transfer and 0% for new spends)

Even though they advertise and instant online decision - I got the Thank you for you application - you will hear from us within the next 10 days gumph. .

I recon that is probably a NO then, Oh well looks like my decision has been made for me and we will have to tighten those purse strings even tighter to afford christmas and sons birthday, not so sure we will manage to have the card at £0.00 at the end of this month if we need to be using it!
  • Why is it that every time that you get close to being debt free, something happens to push it further from your reach.....

I have just been working out finances and if back pay is not this month then we CAN get the credit card to nil, but only for a day or two as then we will need to spend on it to get through the month........ ARRRRRGGGG

If back pay is in this pay packet then the same as above..... But the card should say at nil but only for a couple of weeks!

WHY DID I NOT REALISE THIS BEFORE  What a fool I am...... IDIOT

I feel so depressed, and yet again a total failure.
  • Hi, I have to say that I am feeling better today, gave myself a kick up the !!! and have sorted myself out as I think I have been driving my poor hubby mad. Bless him..... I wouldn't put up with me!

Got my Son another new bed this time from Ebay.... Its a long story, so I won't bore you all.

Good news is that we saved £40 on the shop price AND don't have to wait for the 14 day delivery period, Hubby is on his way to collect as I type. :j

He has been sleeping on the floor for the last 3 nights,
  • Good evening.... What a fantastic couple of days we have had...

Well I phoned work yesterday and the back pay of my payrise will be in this months salary :T.

My dad came over and started on my sons built in wardrobe yesterday :T son really can't wait for it to be done. He has a tiny box room so it will give him lots more room. (really don't know why they didn't do it when they built them as the two bigger rooms have built in wardrobes, would have made sense really) and better still my dad has been able to recycle some of my sons old cabin bed for parts of it :T WELL DONE DAD!!! :j. Saves on the cost slightly and it all helps. All the rest of the bed is now in the loft as boarding ( one of those beds that once put together you can't take it apart and re make it , won't make that mistake again.

Well our day today has been amazing as my mum has looked after youngest daughter today and we took oldest daughter and son to see " THE LORD OF THE RINGS" west end stage show... Got the tickest a while ago... Just as we reached debt free the first time (which didn't last long I might add )

They totally loved it and we all had a much needed and deserved break from the normal everyday monotomy....

I am now back and ready to go for it big time.... Debt here we come, you'd better watch out. (especially now that I know the back pay is on it's way :j)

Also some unexpected news.... my reply for applying to halifax for a credit card came through and.... I was accepted and the letter dropped through onto the mat this morning . Totally shocked as was sure it would be a NO!

Means that we now have a new card when it arrives with 0% for 12 months! :D, Amazon 0% runs out on xmas day...
  • Glad u had a good time at the show.... I love the West End!
Congrats on the 0% card too, that'll make things easier for u over Christmas!
