Hi everyone
Just to keep you all in the picture, I have now closed the dispute on ebay and re listed the item. I have added the non paying bidder to my banned list and now have 10 people watching the item with 5 and a bit days left and no bids. Lets wait and see what happens.
I have had some good news from work to the tune that our payrise that was due in April has finally been agreed and should be paid as of this month, including the back pay from april (will wait till I see it on my payslip before I believe the backpay part though)
We are still struggling with this months budget as we took away the £50 treat budget this month and £100 from the food and petrol budget to try and pay off the remaining credit card balance this month. (we are struggling as the ebay item never was paid for and that had been included in our calculations to clear it, but if the payrise and back pay go through as promised it is not a problem. Unfortunatly I have to wait till pay day to find out, so therefore we are trying to manage without that included.0 -
Well, the ebay item has two bids on it and 9 people watching it with 3 days left!! I hope it gets a few more bids on it yet!!!
My dad wants to rearrange the holiday he was going to take us on in Jan, for october next year but now wants us to pay half.... That is going to be a tough one to manage....
I want to get straight and get the decorating done - almost been in our house a whole year and as yet no decorating at all has been done - due to throwing ALL money at the debt.. And to be honest I want to re decorate every room as this is the 1st house that I have felt settled and truly happy with. I love the house and it's location along with finally having a drive for our cars...... The only thing that we really want to improve is to put in a loft conversion at some stage. It just does not feel like it is truly ours yet as we have not made any changes to it and all the carpets are really shabby as well as the decor not really being to our taste0 -
Hi everyone
Update so far - Ebay - my item ends in 6 hrs and there are 6 bids so far and 10 people watching........ Hope it gets some more bids on it.. It still has a long way to go to get anywhere near what it went for last time!
I have had to cancel the holiday with my dad as due to alot of changes at work I am unable to book any leave in October until April . But on the positive It will either mean we have longer to save towards it, or it will be the following year and hopefully we will be debt free and more used to things by then.
I have worked out that in need a minimum Take home pay this month of £1633.78, but will have to add the next 2 weeks shopping total to this too  so whatever we spend in the next two weeks will have to be added to this total.
I am due a payrise that was supposed to have happened back in April and apparently all the back pay should be in this months pay but I will believe it when I see it. I have also done some overtime that is due in this months pay so I have no idea what I will get.... I hate it when I don't know what I will be paid, this usually ends up in a sleepless night the day before payday:mad:
I will be able to put more accurate figures down once the ebay Item has finished too as that has not been included in the calculations.0 -
Well the update on ebay was that my item did better than I thought it would, though still not as well as when it went last time and the idiot did not pay!!! difference of -£28, did not think it would do as well cos it's now quite close to christmas and people are thinking about what they have got to buy their loved ones. They have paid already :j and I have transfered the money to my bank so hopefully it will appear where it is needed soon.
. I will change my workings out later and update what my min income needs to be this month. 0 -
Hi silkglade
Sounds like you're working really hard - well done you! Bit confused about this holiday next year tho - your dad was going to pay, wasn't he? And now he wants you to pay half? I realise I'm treading on delicate ground here, but....... seems a problem to me.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Karmacat
The reason he was going to pay for the whole thing was due to going in Jan and the cost being rather a good deal. Now due to health reasons (for my dad) we can't go till later in the year, Obviously we don't want to be going in the summer holidays as it will be so busy and spend all the time queing. so we had decided on October, but the difference in cost between going in Jan and Oct is almost double and therefore he has asked us to pay half towards it.0 -
Right this is the update so far,
Hubby and I have had a long chat and we think that the amount the ebay item went for can keep us going till payday.
Therefore if my take home pay is £1633.78 or more then we can clear this last credit card bill this month after payday..... watch this space on the 23rd as I will not know anything before that....
I hate not knowing what I will get paid and I know that I will be feeling down and having problems sleeping till then . At least I will know either way then. It could be worse... I could have to wait alot longer.
Then there is the problems that my son's birthday (1st Dec) and christmas, There is not much time and only 1 payday left before christmas.:eek:0 -
So little time.... my Christmas cards are still waiting for me in the garage....  and there are *big* spiders in there (tho not in the Christmas box, thankfully, thats spider-proof).
Thanks for clearing up about the hol, silkglade.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

EeeeeeeeK!! spiders!!!
I know, christmas is just around the corner really.... but on the positive side it will not be expensive with the kids as they have had and got very expensive birthday prezzies (a one off as they went without for as long as I can remember)0 -
Right. I am in need of some advice from you wonderful people.
My credit card is at 0% till Christmas Day, and to be honest we are really hoping to have enough on payday to pay all of the remaining balance off (fingers crossed)
BUT......... This only leaves us decembers pay to buy all our xmas gifts, food etc which to be honest will not be stupid amounts anyway, but pay day is going to be about the 19th Dec (usually 24th of the month, but at xmas they pay us early) all well and good but we then have an extra week before payday too....
QUESTION IS - Do we apply for another 0% card now so that any extra expense can go on this knowing it's 0% (but worries me that we will then overspend) or do we just try to manage with what we have and poss put the last week or so on the card in Jan? or go overdrawn as we have an overdraft that we NEVER go into as I just always pretend that it's not there (rather than pre lightbulb moment just thinking oh excellent I still have £ X amount left to spend)0
