iphone storage - space taken up?

to put it in simpler terms, all of your invidual photos might be twice the size of her individual photos, no 2 photos are of equal size you cannot say she has twice as many photos by looking at the storage usage.
I think you're confused like me. I don't care about the number of photos - just the amount of hard drive space they take up.
Of her 11.6 GB hard drive, 7.3 GB is used up by photos, the remaining 4.3 GB is used up by other apps and system files.
Of my 11.6 hard drive, only 3.5 GB is used up by photos, which leaves 8.1 GB used up by other apps and system files, but there's no way the bulk of this is on apps - i have fewer apps than her and you can see in the screenshot the apps are listed in most data used first order!Increasingly money-conscious

you also have 1.5GB free, whereas she has 0.5GB... have you cleared out all the app caches on yours (or hers for that matter)?? on your phone, 6GB is everything else excluding pics AND FREE SPACE..
edit:- but you could have taken photos at different resolutions, so similar qty of pics could easily take up vastly different amounts of storage.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

don't know if this is significant, but the size of your apps individually look massive, compared to android versions. Do you have a backup-type feature set up on the apple?......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I believe the size includes data - e.g. photos contained within Messenger but i could be wrong.
It would be interesting to know if the size is different to other iphone users.Increasingly money-conscious

are you both running the same version of iOS? or different ones, with one being bigger than the other??......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

in that case, try downloading the equivalent of CCleaner and run that.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Have you got a link? Doesn't look like CCleaner exists for IOS:

Phones aren't jailbroken either.Increasingly money-conscious

GJ said the equivalent of ccleaner. There are umpteen apps with that functionality in the Play store so I'm guessing there will be in the Apple store too. Just search for a cleaner and read what they do.0
