Ionafan- sounds like the foot needs some more rest. Hope the painkillers help and don't make you too woozy!
Atb and CY- hugs to you both
Kaz- we ordered two mattresses a couple of months ago and eventually ended up in mattressm*n. Despite the dodgy adverts! Lol! They were the most helpful store (not just advising the most expensive), which we found happened in some other stores!! No- I don't want to spend £400 on a mattress for the spare room!!!!! And the delivery guys were amazing! Delivered it to the bedroom, unpackaged it, placed it on the bad and took the packaging away with them!!!
Had a full on weekend so the house is a state!!

I am sat here in shock, serves me right for wandering around internet, a well known department type store online, mattress, selected double box, and high to low price the 1st mattress was £8500!, what for a mattress, I am sure it is top of the range but really, that is more than my car is worth..............

How the other half (or maybe 5%) live, eh, kazw £8500 for a mattress? I'd want it to put its own sheets on for that, lol. Robomattress.
School run, in the rain, happy days. DD went in wellies and yaay we remembered to take her shoes as well.
DS has another note to excuse from PE. I think we're going to have to get his leg checked out...
Errands today include popping to kitchen place to sort remainder of things to be done. Am I unreasonable to expect new switch plates? They replaced the socket plates but put the old switches back on...
Also going to browse at The Range to see if they have any nice mugs.
And need to get DS outfit together for school performance tomorrow. He's not impressed lol not a natural performer...
CY just "meh" at families, why can't they just be happy for the couple and slot in however?
Thanks for the lists, I will be in this week - house needs putting back to rights and OMG my stair carpet is furry... Lol
Hope you all have a productive, peaceful day and rest comes to those who need it.Bossymoo

Our latest mattress cost more than our last bed cost. And is worth every penny.
I have bought most of our mattresses from a local, family owned store. When I chose ours I told them.what I wanted ( reasonably firm is my preference ) they pointed me to the right area and told me to take as long as I wanted.
I bought the mattress I nearly fell asleep on!!!!!!!!!
I spent £600. Worth every penny. Remember you spend a third of your life in bed.
So in the end my advice is to test beds and buy the one you feel most comfortable with. Ours has a memory foam top layer.:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
We bought our bed a couple of months ago in C@rpetright. Only went in to buy a headboard for our double bed. Ended up with complete kingsize bed for about £400, it was less than half price. Memory foam mattress, lovely and comfy.Spend less now, work less later.0

I think we spent £350 our king size. There were loads cheaper but we went for the one with natural fillings as they are supposed to keep you warmer in winter and cooler in summer and I have a sweaty hubby!! Lol!
I think we paid £150 for our spare double mattress as it wasn't going to be used very often. I think the cheapest double was about £120 if I remember correctly!Grocery challenge- feb 2015- £133.07/£2500 -
I have new mugs
And cooking utensils, couple of cereal tubs and a washing up bowl that doesn't fit :rotfl:
Also seen a canvas I might like for my kitchen wall. Is this a mad idea? Canvas in a kitchen? It's not near the cooker - opposite side of the room.
And I found a travel mug that actually fits in the drinks holder in my car :T
Just having a drink then lunch then I shall crack on with the list.
Oh - chose some flooring and told them about the plinth lights - they are seeing what alternatives we have, we may end up with none...Bossymoo

Hi all
We have a canvas in our kitchen Bossy, a long way from where the cooking happens.
Stressed. Problems with DS1 and work. Seems that the two people who run the place want to employee 16/17 year olds because they are cheap but have no idea how to manage them. One boss lets the staff get away with murder and the other shouts at them for no reason. DS1 was sent a text message at 10pm last night telling him they wanted him in to work at 8.30am this morning then told him off because he hadnt got the text until morning and was late. However DS1 is not helping himself now because he is unhappy so answering back and getting a bit of an attitude.
All that aside I have done paid stuff no. 1 and now need to do some work on paid stuff no. 2. DS2 to pick up from school at some point then gym class tonight. Have run the carpet sweeper around, will dust the LR later. Tea in sc so thats sorted.
Right, off here and on with some work!0 -
Thanks for all the ideas, I'm going to have to save a bit more 1st, before I do any ordering, but will keep my eye out for sales etc.
