  • You can claim Irish citizenship if you have an Irish grandparent.

If I remember correctly, one Irish grandparent would qualify you for Irish citizenship by descent if you sign the foreign birth register first.

Oops! I'm not trying to get rid of you!:rotfl:rotfl:

I have Irish grandparents so I think I'm quarter Irish. I might lay claim to this citizenship!

I read an article that you can save fresh eggs for 6 months or more by coating them in mineral oil and standing with thinner side up. It's cos the coating that is naturally on them is washed off. Not tried this myself, wonder if it can be done. I did copy the address line and then lost it, sorry.:o

The house is looking ever more sparse, the box piles have reached Everestian proportions and the meals have become increasingly odd and random...we' must be maddddddd! be nice when it's all over though and I can restock that armagedon cupboard, I'm not at all happy as we're down to 5 loo rolls and I normally run with 2 x 24 packs extra at a minimum level and as for not having custody of the baked bean mountain any longer sobs, sobs, sobs!!!

If you are down to your last 5 loo rolls then you'd best lay off the baked beans for a while!

This may interest you. Seemingly, you can puchase Isinglass in powder form.

Good grief GQ THAT is a seriously disturbing thought
:D:o Sorry for putting Cappella off her supper, but reading your responses just now nearly made me spit-up tea over my keyboard.

We are now on Night 2 of a very localised powercut - the communal lighting here at Shoebox Towers is off. Which means, mes amies, that the many nooks and crannies where all sorts of nefarious activities take place day and night will now be much safer as the junkies will not be able to see what they're doing. You literally cannot see to walk safely out there, it's pitchy black.

I'm staying indoors tonight, something I usually do anyway and the fact that it's pertiddling down like a monsoon out there adds to the rightness of the decision.

But, the current state of play makes me think I want a really big metal torch like wot the Mothership has, for walking around outside on nights like this - light source and potential defensive weapon rolled into one. I shall keep my eyes peeled for a likely candidate.
