Cappella, It's called experience and it's the thing that makes us grow as individuals. :) Once I realised that we can't get it right first time for everything and realised that learning from mistakes is an important part of human development, I began to chill out a bit. Mind you, like you I hate having to bin food.

Jojo, My thoughts are with you - I hope it sorts out to something manageable really quickly and that you get your medication sorted fast. :grouphug:

GreyQueen enjoy your garden trolley, but you could always use it as a bogey cart too :rotfl:. I can just imagine you barrelling downhill shouting wheeeeee :rotfl:

We are thinking of getting a vacuum sealer ? Has anyone got one, is it any good and does it get much use ? I don't want to buy one only to leave it in the cupboard to gather dust :(. Thanks.

I have a vacuum sealer,I use it a lot.We are very lucky to have a Tesco that still reduces food down to pennies at 7pm.As soon as we get home we vacuum pack all the meat and any berries ,veg ect that can be frozen,we take things out of boxes or packaging because things are packed now to make it look like your getting a lot of produce ,and you can fit a lot more in the freezer. You can also reuse the bags.

Could you contact the people who prescribe and explain the situation and get an emergency script?

Already tried that - because the lovely NHS has been carved up and flogged to the highest bidders (or the ones with the most aggressive legal teams at any rate), its only available via a private company, must be delivered in bulk to a private, permanent address due to its cytotoxic nature (and because its injectable but can't be disposed of via the chemist, the used sharps must be collected from the home) only in the areas where they have a contract and takes a minimum of 6 weeks to arrange.

Anyway, as I didn't show up to my appointment Monday for obvious reasons, I'm just grateful they've rebooked for October, rather than kicking me off the list for cancelling at such short notice.

I'll be back home next week.

dND has said it really well - I'm just seconding all of it, really.

I'm at my catsitting gig now - as I can't actually do any of my gardening from here :rotfl: I'm going to use the time to practise skills (as well as stroking cats). I meant to bring some paracord to practise with, but I've seen some garden twine in the local Poundland for £1, in two colours, I'm going to buy that and learn some knots - I have a reef knot safely under my belt, but nothing else.

I also picked up some training nunchucks (made out of foam) on ebay for £3, on purpose for this trip - there are genuine teachers on ebay, not mad survivalists, who show you exercises. I may find they trigger my arthritis, of course, in which case all bets are off, but they cost £3, so thats okay.

Thank you Living Proof and Frosty for your input re vacuum sealers. Could I ask you if it is possible to vacuum seal something like a curry ? If so it would help me make some ready meals for my Dad, that he could take from the freezer and then microwave . In any case we are going to look at getting one when we come back from our holidays in September.

Had a bit of bad news today, my DH had his oncology review and the number of cancer cells are on the rise. Not by much, but enough to warrant his reviews to become 4 monthly, instead of 6 months :(. Bu88er !
Jojo I hope things can be sorted for you soon.
