Is that for you down south kittie or for us too? We've been actually quite cool here today, a coolish breeze from the north and grey heavy cloud. I want some sun back but the BBC forecast is dulldulldull.0

I've just checked the weather forecasts for next week from the 20th and the highest it goes is 30 and that's across the middle and northern parts of the country, down here we run at 28 to 29 from Tuesday onwards so not very comfortable and I expect the nights will be hot so sleep will be short on the ground. We've coped with that high before and although uncomfortable it's manageable if you're sensible. Staying hydrated is my way of coping, if I do that I can keep going!0

Been a high here of 19 today and felt cold after the recent hotter stuff.0

The one I usually use says 34-35 next Thurs and Fri in this area (i.e. in the coming week, not tomorrow and the next day), but I will wait and see, and things may change to some extent before then. I won't panic yet.0

I hope the weather forecast is wrong as I really do not like heat ( and it tends to be a bit cooler up here) . Better make sure all the raspberries are harvested ( I make the children do it, minus the baby who keeps trying to eat the leaves)
We eat vegans meals dotted into our week, just don't tell anyone else in the house as they will grump - they happily eat it if I do not say it is vegan though. I make chickpea bread/pancakes a lot for lunch as less wheat agrees with me as a bonus it is also nice cold so any extra turns into snacks for the children. Just cutting down on meat and making it stretch further and further over meals also works well for me.
I am sticking my head in the sand this month about brexit related nonsense and will save up for the permit to stay I will have to fork out for since I am not a UK national ( I have been here for nearly 20 years though)0 -
I eat quite a bit of vegan food but a meal at a time and mixed in with omnivore meals. Vegan food can be gorgeous.
I have to get my hair cut today and notice that it is thinning again, no avoiding flipping stress with moving house and I need to up my morning protein, again, for my hair Drat, my hair was getting thicker and it takes ages to re-grow
I need to go to the allotment today, to strip the veg and I am going to pull some rhubarb leaves for the compost, maybe just one plant to see how it works, maybe just leave 3 leaves. I do make very refreshing cold green juices , using peeled cucs as my base. I don`t see why the juices don`t freeze, so will try that today and it is a good way to incorporate green chard as well as some tangy (ripe?) windfalls. mint and lemon. Thats me sorted, I will have a lot of cucs today, I know it
Mar I don`t know the weather for up north yet but will look and see later, son lives in glasgow
re organic, I confess to having eaten organic for very many years, around 45 years but not in a narrow self righteous way. I eat what I am given when I am out and if I cannot get organic then I compromise. Lamb btw is the cheapest non-organic grass fed, they are kept on grass all the time but the meat is halal unless certified soil association organic0 -
mar, cool and showery, warm mid month, very cool at the end of month. Me in sw, not yet certain but I am praying for a bit of cool on some days rather than constant intense blazing heat.0

Hmm, today's life lesson, delivered a few minutes' ago;
1. Do not wash empty food cans with a sponge rather than a brush.
2. Do not keep your first aid kit in a drawer in the wall unit in the living room - this unit has the bicycle in front of it.
3. It's awkward trying to move things with a paper towel wadded against one's bleeding thumb (pun intended).:rotfl:
Haven't been on my allotment for 5 days now (expect that won't be able to force my way onto it past the 'gettes). Must go later.
Yestereve I felt a bit ropey and couldn't settle to anything, even the net, so dragged stuff out from under the bed and re-arranged by deep larder (which is now shallower and not under the bed).
Things are much more orderly in there now and my underbed storage is for things like luggage and I've also stashed the boxes from my new PC tower and new monitor under there for now.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

heck GQ, accidents happen in this weather, I am sure if messes up brain clarity. Hope the healing has started
A chuffing good start to the day, got the new stove quote, lining, lintel, the lot for a clearview solution 400 and it is quite a bit less than I expected, ok I had no idea of cost but they are pencilling in september for me. As a bi-product and as good as the quote was when he said that `you have got yourself a cracking good find in that house` wow0 -
Excellent news about the stove (and the cracking good find!) kittie :T
GreyQueen Been there, done that, re washing cans and cutting fingerOn the plus side, I didn't have to move a bicycle to get at the plasters! I hope it's not too deep. Cuts on a finger or thumb are such a nuisance. I'm sure kittie is right, people aren't quite so on the ball as usual after weeks of very hot weather
Welcome back to MSE Ziggy - I don't post on this thread very often, but it's always good to have a new poster0
