If calling UK numbers from abroad, you substitute 44 for the 0.

Actually, if ringing the UK, from mainland Europe, you delete the 0, and begin the number with 0044.

I haven't a clue where Watford is... or Essex or Suffolk or anywhere southeast. I know where York is - sort of - and where Blackpool is !!

    Watford or Watford Gap?

Watford Gap, in Daventry, Northamptonshire, has long been hailed as the cut-off point between the two parts of the country, with southerners sometimes criticised for not venturing north of it. (Also deemed to be where dialects change)

:p Get yerself a map, wumman! Heck, even this sassenach has been to places like Glenrothes, Stornoway and Pitlochry and I can find them on a map, too.

I've never been to Blackpool, tho, but York is nice. Good scones.

:p Went to a pal's house. Apparently they call it Roundabout City? My sense of direction is normally pretty good but we went round so many of the blasted things to get to her place that I was completely lost. I think you need to be born and bred, or have a native guide, to navigate Glenrothes successfully.

Righty, off allotmenteering for a few hours, food growing is preptastic, after all. Laters, GQ xx

I have, and, TBH, I don't know why I bothered.
