Oh well, that's good jk0
I hope they arrive nice and quickly. I've never been able to order glasses online because my prescription's so complicated! I have just told my OH about Transitions Drivewear - I bet he'll be keen to get some of those next time

I've just had to have new glasses made.
Fortunately a simple prescription. Right -1.25/-0.50/65 Left -1.25/-0.50/125, if that means anything to anyone.
Unfortunately, the opticians were talking a week for delivery, so I went to my local Specsavers.
They were doing a "second pair free" deal (and yes, I know it's not really a free pair), so I got two pairs for £79, with one pair anti-glare coated for an extra £30, so £109 in total.
Ordered them ~ 5pm, and collected them at ~ 12-30pm the following day. :cool:0 -
Buggalugs went AWOL again Sunday morning.0

Woohoo we have HOT WATER!!!!! and a new airing cupboard lagged tank and a warm bathroom, life is bliss!!!
He Who Knows ordered us a stove top eco fan for our inset wood stove and it arrived this afternoon. It works perfectly and the lounge and kitchen are beautifully warm. I had my doubts about whether or not it WOULD work on the shelf but it's whizzing round exactly as DD1's does on top of her conventional stove. Fab!!! It started working when the stove temperature reached 250 on the thermometer on the door.0 -
The weather was absolutely foul here this morning; I had to drive down to Mum's and was fighting the wheel all the way in my 2½ ton van. Several small cars in front of me were actually being blown across onto the other lane as we went over the hills; luckily even the Audi drivers (sorry, I know there are good ones out there!) had had to slow down as visibility was so poor and the wind was blasting first one way, then another. There were branches down everywhere, and passing one wood there were a number of trees not just uprooted, but smashed. The river is out of bed & running riot round the watermeadows, but no further, so far. But - not one word in the local or national press about it so far. I know North Devon's taken a hammering over the last few days; my nephew's wife's family live in a village over there that now has a raging torrent for a high street, but you'd think everything was completely normal to look at the news! Hopefully it's all drying up a bit now; it's certainly gone colder.Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Amazon purchase for £11.99
Hoping if anyone has experience on using these pans, it’s a cheaper version of the Ridgemonkey sandwich toastie maker.
I thought it would come in handy for camping, caravanning etc.
I've seen the youtube videos of people cooking interesting things in them on the riverbank e.g omelettes/bread and butter pudding/brownies etc.
So will it be any good? Or just a nonsensical gadget and destined for the cupboard as its basically a covered frying pan“You’re only here for a short visit.

Sounds good, however the bad news is that you'll need to make a start at the washing-up backlog! ..
On the stove, when you mentioned it was built-in I imagined it to fill the fireplace recess (as some do)! ... I know someone who has a similar fan to the 'specialbuy' one mentioned earlier which sits on top of a small cast-iron stove in an arched recess ... they found that, being in a small recess, it warmed the room much better if it was at the back, so blowing hot air out of all of the recessed 'cavity', so worth trying if you can do the same ... anyway, hope it works well for you!
