Been frozen solid here for a fortnight Bob, we tried yesterday to get into our car and its solid, once he de-iced the lock the door was still frozen shut, he thinks it's the doorseals.
You'll just have to get the sledge out and harness Beegle to it, Mar!
Wild Thing, the fluffier of the two parental moggies (seems to be a mongrel maine coon), has conceded to the season and is now spending about 75% of the time indoors. She finally gave up on outdoor living at the end of November, the little beggar.
Frosty here, am easing into the day and will go gardening. Have lots and lots to do and cannot get up there after w*rk at this time of the year. Roll on solstice and bring forth the cakes and wine.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I have just discovered a new sport, Misguided Prepping. I have found 2 full bottles and two three quarters full bottles of Worcestershire sauce. There are only 3 of us and I don't like things that it has been used in so what That Man is thinking is quite beyond me.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

I only use it in Spaghetti sauce and tomato juice. Bottles usually still last me about a year though. I don't think it goes off, so maybe use it in those items.0 -

BEWARE!
Just come in and listened to a message on ansaphone purporting to be from HMRC saying they are starting a case against me.
Press 1 to speak to my case worker.
I should cocoa :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I presume this is a scam so hopefully the bailiffs will not be attending anytime soonNot dim.....just living in soft focus

There are certainly scammers around currently pretending to be HMRC - so it's 99% certain it's one of them.
I don't somehow think warning someone they were about to "start a case" on them would be the way they would operate. More likely to go after culprits by watching them surreptitiously for some time and compiling evidence and then "whack"...and I'd be very surprised if you'd been "up to summat you oughter not be" anyway.
Prior warning doesnt sound very likely to me somehow:cool:0 -
They write to you to say they are starting an enquiry. They never leave messages on answerphonesIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Good to know - I'd log in to my HMRC account if I was at all concerned, but it doesn't sound like you are. Go with your gut instinct
I'm prepping constantly in terms of setting things up safely for the future, but it's all extremely repetitive, so I'm not writing about it here :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Several people in my area had these calls - definitely a scam. Pre-recorded call centre type message, alleging tax evasion or similar, without time to actually process what was being said. I don't know what they might have gained from it other than possibly someone paying to interact with the call.
It's malicious in that the first reaction is one of fear for most, and if the person receiving the call is elderly or vulnerable, not easy to reassure them that the tax man isn't on their case.
Savings goal £30,000 1% = £300.
