Mine will be 27 and 21 this year and they would be devastated if they didn't have a stocking - though every year they think I might not do one!
My best tip is to keep the actual stocking small. They get more out of a really full small stocking than a bigger one with room to spare. It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
My DDs are 30 and 35 and I still do stockings for them.0

Question:
When the pistachio fudge recipe calls for condensed milk, what is that in the UK? I'm thinking it must be what we call sweetened condensed milk here in the US because the recipe has no type of sweetener in it. Is this right?Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Hi Mila.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Christmas is coming very early to us this year , OH has just been diagnosed as terminally ill and we've been advised to do things now rather than later so Christmas is officially moved to Sunday 7th August. We will do the full works. Christmas Eve is in Saturday 6th August and will see friends invited over for the evening .
Therefore advent starts this Wednesday and I will be hurriedly looking out for bits and bobs to put in each day. Luckily I have a stock of stuff in my christmas cupboard.
Hopefully we get to do it all over in December but making the most of the well time we have at the moment. I love Christmas !0 -
Hello everyone, can I join in please? Love Christmas
Mhagster sending my very best to you and your family.
I have a small stash started. Christmas usually means I get a bit of debt, BUT NOT THIS YEAR.
Absolutely determined to stay out of the red, now that I will be (predict end Aug all paid up) .
So handmade cheap but thoughtful gifts for everyone except my son who will obviously get the best I can do inside budget.
I've a recipe for dandilion salve for sore muscles for the chaps.
One sister is getting a knitting bag from a pattern I've got. Just need to find some ling chunky wooden needles for the handles.
Bil is getting a cd case that goes over his sunvisor in his works van. He likes country music so looking out for some fun cowboy fabric.
Older sister is most likely to dislike a homemade gift. But i will probably go with a large bag I've found a pattern for one made in a cross shape, that looks roomy so careful choice of fabric and she might even use it!
I ca t remember the rest but will post again !

Flavoured vodka always goes down well if you have drinkers as friends. You can recycle bottles or buy cheap kilners. We've made it with pear drops, and with Werthers originals and it only takes a few weeks
Of course you can make the fruit one which from memory should be 3-4 months so plenty of time to get some going
here's the flavoured Vodka thread. we just use cheap and cheerful vodka

Sorry, im hogging the christmas thread!
Has anyone ever made the homemade fairy in a jar/glowjars? i'm wondering if that might be a separate thread on the craft board. SO many ways to do it yet so effective. Thinking would be great for christmas gifts if you do the permanent ones, and also for my wedding in november
