Another positive is the pro-EU resurgence on the continent. They look at us and see a right economic cluster !!!!, only to get worse in the coming months and years. Should be good for EU unity. That's a positive.:)

All indications are that the French are more sceptical about the EU than the UK was.

Those washing machines must be running at maximum RPM on spin currently in Brussels.

Even family & friends of mine in (various parts of) Germany have stated their disquiet at various EU proposals; given what ongoing problems will inevitably cost, how long do you think Germany will remain so pro-EU?

Costs to local economies for example:

We have had a long running thread entitled
"If we vote for Brexit what happens"
This has generated thousands of posts. Many after the result continuing the same arguments that were posted before the vote.
We are now where we are NOT where we would like to be.
    Now we are POST BREXIT.
This is the world we have to deal with.
What are we going to do. What positive things can ordinary people say or do to ensure we move on as positively as possible.
    What can I do?
Well I will try to promises not to look backwards.
    We must now look forward.
Has anyone any other helpful things we can do or say now or in the coming weeks and months.

Buy British (or anything other than EU).

So far I have bought lots of British Lager - Cornish St Austell, Samuel Adams, Cobra. Happy to hear about others.

I've been checking where my make up comes from - a lot of Body Shop stuff is made in the UK. Sadly most of Boots No 7 isnt and I'm rethinking this. Lush products also UK made and Molton Brown.

Also as things are about to get more expensive 'cos of fall in the pound I've been buying anything I need now (particularly as sales are fantastic. For same reason look after what you've got - I've just painted my outdoor furniture.
Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.

The article about the Netherlands quoted Gert Wilders - a bit like asking Nigel Farage what he thinks of the EU

What has the refugee issue in Germany got do with the EU?

    Seriously?
I suggest you re-read my post, specifically the paragraph prior to the links you commented upon.

As for Gert Wilders, although the linked article may indeed have quoted him the anti-EU feeling in Holland recently is well-documented and reported-upon.

If you believe all to be "well" in Euroland you are sadly misinformed. ;)

I've re-read it - you refer to some an anecdote about "disquiet" in Germany about the EU. Well, I'm sure that people in every EU member state complain about the EU from time to time. But deciding that it is sensible to leave the EU is another matter entirely. And the polling indicates that there is no desire in any EU member state to do so.

I see that there are problems in Europe, problems in the UK, problems in the rest of the world. You tell me what that has do with the decision to leave the EU.

Merkel made a unilateral policy decision that created difficulties for other member states.

Ah, and we all know how accurate polling is don't we? ;)

    Regarding that highlighted in red:
given what ongoing problems will inevitably cost, how long do you think Germany will remain so pro-EU?
from post # 24 in this thread - though you COULD insert any country into the place of Germany IMO.

    You want spoon-feeding?
Okay, one tidbit as a taster:
See what happens when other EU countries refuse a "fair allocation" of the migrants that Merkel has invited and Germans realise they are taking the vast majority of these migrants themselves.
    Hungary is already threatening refusal:
    http://www.wsj.com/articles/hungary-sets-date-for-vote-on-settling-migrants-1467707714
If the EU does attempt to impose a fine as they threaten, how do you think that will be received?

The UK has shown other EU member countries that the will of the EU CAN be questioned.

You need to re-read the article.

They are staying here and making their UK products (and possibly other countries products here).

They are moving their EU operations to Germany.

And this was already planned before the vote. It's a growing company.
