Actually, if you open the Tools >> Add-ons window, then open the window with the link in (both reduced in size so that you can see some part of each) you can simply drag and drop the link across into the add-ons window and it all gets done for you.

I currently use my hotmail through Outlook as I signed it up through there before they changed the rules. If I change to windows live mail i assume that I'll no longer be able to use it through that?

  • I use OE and can download Yahoo emails using these settings

My GF uses OE and can't - however I installed Ypops and now she can download her yahoo emails

In the past with a previous ISP I have had problems with OE and Yahoo and the solution was to use the ISP's POP3 & STMP servers rather than the Yahoo ones

yahoo yes, as per above. Hotmail can work, however is being phased out.

I'd suggest you go and get a gmail(.com) account, that will allow you to access it by pop3 and webmail.

Who said that Hotmail is being phased out? I haven't been notified of this.

I don't think that it's Hotmail itself being phased out, it's the downloading of your Hotmail to a PC using programs like Outlook Express. Microsoft seem to want to steer people into looking at their Hotmail on the webpage rather than downloading it and storing it on their PC.

the setting are for yahoo mail plus which is not a free yahoo mail account, while both my hotmail and yahoo is free
