If there is a deduction made in your Mum's HB then perhaps you can make up for the shortfall from your wages?

that's not what they asked ?, and is not helpful.

    sorry about that person OP,

as that money is yours, is not "her" income > it wont make any difference whatsoever.

(as her income is not being changed, neither will her housing benefit)

college is !!!!ing expensive !!! > make sure you buy yourself good food for lunch etc and stay off the beer.

(i took a packed lunch to mine when arsed > not one of the "kewl people")

    regards

I would be happy to do that , but we are mainly worried it will get completely cut

That was very nasty to that poster millions of kids pay into the family income once they are earning in fact when I left school in the 70s at age 15 it was expected that I contributed, I think If I told my mum and dad that it was my money and nothing to do with them I would have got a clip round the ear, although to be fair I didn't have the ops dilemma as my parents were not claiming benefits

Its up to the OP and their mum (and it looks like they would be happy to contribute anyway) but you have no right to 'apologise' for another poster making a suggestion that is the norm for a lot of families.

I think when they said "yours" , they more meant in the eyes of the government. But thank you for the link as well

The OP also didn't ask whether they should drink beer but yet you commented on it so not really your place to insult another poster.

Your advice is also not entirely accurate so also unhelpful.

Is course full time? Does your mum still get Chld Benefit for you?

You sound to me like a young man that will go far. Hardworking, honest & articulate. Good luck.

One word of unsolicited advice. Don't work yourself into the ground. Yes work hard but be sure to enjoy being 17 too x
