no service history

Yeah, this is probably not a good situation............... Chances are the car was financed with every penny the last owner could spare and they couldn't afford the servicing.
What tyre's are fitted? This is an extremely good indicator of the previous owners real world finances. Cheap sh*t tyres = probably not had any money spent on it.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

it was from scotland and im in n ireland. i wouldnt mind if they gave me a fair trade in price but they are working on the value they sold me at not which was over priced with no SH.
You were the one that bought a car for around £30k that never had the sense to look in the service book!0 -
yeah i was told verbally when i bought it, and after all this BS ive been told verbally by the salesman and dealership owner that it doesnt exist. with no proof of either im up !!!! creekYou were told verbally that there was a service history.
BUT... You didn't get it in writing, you never saw the history, you were never given the history.
Unless you've seen it, touched it, held it - it doesn't exist. Even then, it might be faked.
Have you looked at the MOT mileage history on the certificate? I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering if the history went AWOL at the same time as the mileage was "adjusted"...0 -
£25k learning experience, took him at his word, wont be making the same mistake again
No such thing as trust when it comes to spending money.
I would not have bought a Range Rover from Scotland to be honest as they tend to be more of a utility purchase.
And I would start looking up common issues as if it hasn't been maintained it likely to be a liability in the longer term0 -
Have you tried Range Rover?
The reason I ask is that I have a Mazda and all servicing is held by them in digital format. If I were to lose paper copies Mazda just give me a printout0 -

We had a similar thing happen when we bought our last car from a Peugeot dealer(1 year old 107). I asked if both keys came with the car to which the sales rep said "oh yes, the other key will be with the paperwork somewhere and you will get them when you pick the car up". After much pressing, we never saw the second key. They wanted something like £400 to make us another key and I had no proof I we'd been promised it.
I'm sure not all sales reps are the same but many will tell you whatever you want to hear to get a purchase out of you. After that incident I will only believe what's in front of me, not what a sales rep tells me.0 -

Doesn't matter. I have been to Scotland you know, being Scottish.
All over Scotland they don't have the premium attached that they do in say London. A mate bought the V10 diesel Toureg and it was not as expensive as I thought it would be.
That is why traders often buy 4x4s from Scotland and bring them down south.
I never mentioned mud I mentioned how they are perceived in the market.
I have driven a fair few miles in Range Rovers over the last couple of years. I like them, I can't afford one realistically at the moment. They do demand a premium down South though.
I would go for a 3.0tdv6 with the 8speed box to be honest not the older 2.7tdv6.0
