Can't bank with a company who put form over function. Truly dreadful app.

So what exactly does Atom do now that other Bank's don't do. I can't justify the cost of an apple phone, are Apple products moneysaving?
The code I got today was to sign up with their new Android app.

I can't say I was overly impressed when they sent me an invitation code, shortly followed by an email saying:

    "We made a little mistake

As you may know, we’re continuing to send out invitation codes and welcoming customers to Atom, daily. We’ve also let you know that we’re rolling codes out to iOS users first.

You may have seen an invitation email with an invite code hit your inbox recently. Unfortunately, this has been sent prematurely, as it is a code for an iOS device.

It wasn’t a mean joke, we promise. It was a genuine mistake on our part, sorry."
Not impressed. Just had my invitation code but the app (iOS and android) will not accept. Won't bother with them

Also got a code today (ios).

I've tapped the 'Create MyID' option in the app and then the 'I've got a code' option... but I just get sent to a screen saying 'That shouldn't have happened, we'll look into it'. I then have to return to the homepage.

Am I missing something? Not a great start...

Edit: Answering my own question: I needed to set a pin for my ipod in order for the App to work. Seems to be working fine now.

So, there's an android app as well, a move in the right direction. However, some are reporting the codes dont work.
I repeat, what exactly does this bank do that other bank's dont do.

    Offer 2.2% on £100,000?

If you have a few 123's, it's a decent alternative.

I got the invite code yesterday and managed to get the app working.

    A few issues and grumbles:

    1) The Android app needs 5.0+ and my phone is on 4.4.4 because battery life on Sony phones is much better. I had to find an old ununsed Moto G with 5.0 to get it installed
    2) I put in a the 6 digit code and re-typed it twice, and now I can't log in with it as it says its wrong. It's not wrong. I typed it in twice, and you need to confirm it.
    3) The voice recognition thing which is the 3rd option needed about 9 goes to finally work, it kept moaning on about background noise. I nearly gave up in disgust.

It all seems very fiddly, with selfies and voice recognition, why they need to over-complicate things is beyond me. I am not really tempted to go back and actually put money into it, as it wont' recognize my security code, seems to have an issue with voice recognition and claiming there is background noise which is total nonsense. and I am not sure I'd be able to get money back out again if it pulls the same stunt again.

Finally I really hate using apps and doing things on tiny screens - its most impractical. I wish they would offer this via a proper computer with a decent keyboard!

I know they say they wish to be new and different, and focus only on mobile, but that just seems to be a willfully stubborn approach, and my side, as I have no confidence I can get money our as its so hard to set up, I do not plan to put money in as its so hard to work with the bloody app.

I also got my invitation code yesterday but after reading some of the comments on her, I'm not sure I'll use it.

Hopefully though, any bugs will be ironed out by the time the fixed saver matures:cool:

    I like it.

Simple app, easy to set up and competitive 1 and 2-year fixed rate savers with FSCS protection.

The nest is ready to lay my eggs, expected due date 1st November.
