I've flown once with them. Cheap, efficient and reliable.

Free internet on most European routes I believe

    Is this a parrot? :rotfl:

Can you use internet on a plane? I always thought you had to turn anything like that off (no idea why though).

I have used them - you don't get fed unless you pay on the flight. We didn't have wifi - not all of the planes are sufficiently new. Our flight out was over three hours delayed - and they are pushing back on paying out.

The only way I could get them to pay out for a delayed flight was using a no win no fee company. Norwegian just take forever to respond and when they do you just get the brush off. In the end they just ignore you.

Once I got round to using Bott & Co it all got resolved within a month or so.

Their long haul routes use B787 aircraft configured with narrow seats in a 3-3-3 arrangement. There isn't much shoulder room and the aisles are narrow as well.

Their 3-3-3 is no different than BA's 3-3-3 in the same model. The same model that will be flying their longest route from January.

Norweigan are a budget airline, they use a lot of contract pilots (in a similar way to Ryanair), and I won't use them as a direct result of this. Lets face it though, a Norweigan plane is cheaper to crew than a BA/Easyjet plane, and has more seats than BA in the same plane on the same routes, hence they're cheaper.

BA will be using a B789 for LHR-SCL, these are newer than BA's B788 aircraft and BA are rumoured to have fitted an improved seat in response to initial complaints from B788 passengers. But yes the shoulder space is pretty much the same on BA and Norwegian.

This is what I've heard too (OH works for BA).

The fact is though that the B763 at 7 abreast should mean 788/9 at 8 abreast rather than 9, however I can see BA's business case for putting the extra seat in.

Removing 5cm of seat pitch (the distance between the same place on 2 rows) probably didn't help, too.

MSE probably isn't the best place for a technical discussion on it though.

Can you use it on your smart-phone in flight mode?

I've never used wi-fi on a plane before.

I've flown Morwegian quite a bit and wi fi has always worked on my iPad, I've not tried it on a smart phone though.

Don't enable flight mode (that turns your phone's wifi off). Just search as you would for a new network and your phone should see the on board network.
