Hi.
Not sure if this is a new airline or they have just started to fly a route I often take as they have suddenly appeared on my search results and seemed to be the cheapest option on first viewing (So I booked).
Any feedback from people that have flown with them (Norwegian)?
Also, Do they not do on-line check-in? I can't find that option anywhere on my booking (I was hoping not to have to go to the check-in desk - especially as I'm only taking hand luggage).
Thanks everyone!

Hi,
No they're not new, been around since 93. Do lots of European flights and can also fly very cheaply with them to the states.
They do online check in, have you followed the links in the 'my travel' section?
I flew with them last year to Rome and was as pleased as I've been with any other flight and am also looking to travel long haul with them next year also.
Great value for money0 -
I've flown once with them. Cheap, efficient and reliable.
Free internet on most European routes I believe.0 -

Their long haul routes use B787 aircraft configured with narrow seats in a 3-3-3 arrangement. There isn't much shoulder room and the aisles are narrow as well.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

As others have said they've been going for some years, but seen some quite big expansion in the last 3 years, especially in the UK where their brand name is growing (another one to watch out for is Vueling).
Norwegian are the 3rd largest low cost airline in Europe after Ryanair and easyJet so they're no small player. Flying with them is just like flying with the others, no noticeable difference really other than free wifi which is a great bonus.0 -
I've flown with them several times from Manchester to Scandinavia with no problems, they're a good low cost airline.0

On overnight long haul B787 flights try and avoid seats near the galley area as it has a hard plastic covered floor, which combined with FAs hard soled uniform shoes, means not only will you hear them chatting away but you also get a constant clop clop noise.
And don't bother with the food they offer unless you like throwing your money away for barely edible sandwiches.
Other than that the experience I had from JFK to LGW was fine.0 -

Yes, it's a configuration that's worth avoiding.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I fell in love with Norwegian when I was going back and forth to Sweden in 2010-11. I could then take a train (thameslink
) to gatwick, get on a plane and be at my boyfriends house in about 5 hours, very convenient. I also really appreciated being able to check a bag in for free, so I could shop around the airport with only a small handbag. Their seats were always spacious (the black leather ones, not sure what aircraft model) and rarely, if ever, full.
NOWADAYS the seats have been smaller, and I can no longer check in a bag for free. I believe they are ryanizing. If it is easier for you to get to gatwick than stansted, they are a very good alternative to Ryan Air though.
Other airlines I always check when going to sweden are SAS and BA - haven't actually used them in a couple of years though, so I'm not sure if they still do one free checked in bag. bonus with BA was that they always gave me a (pretty nasty, but still) sandwich on the flight!
Right now, Ryan happens to be more convenient for me on the other end - one airport close to my family home, one close to my SO (a different one this time).Compact living, sprouting, change checking, long distance SO, survey junkie
