Sat 2nd/Sun 3rd July - What Small Debt Free Wannabe things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Afternoon all
Thanks for starting the thread Legomum, but sorry to hear of more injury problemsHope you are better soon.
Been awol for a few days due to being mega busy (emptying out a sales unit and stocking another, lots of ebay stuff, dealing with accountant, dealing with various issues etc). Not had time to read some days, so hope I haven't missed anything! :rotfl:
So, today I have:
Not spent anything
HM meals from stores
Listed lots of items on ebay
Sold one item
Cleared a pile of ironing
Put loads of boxes and other stuff away so that I can see my dining room again :T
Washed throws from lounge, which are currently blowing on the washing line (between showers)
Put YS stewing beef into SC with half an onion and some leftover mushrooms, to make a pie filling for tomorrow
Walked dog for free exercise, for both of us
Picked some strawberries and cherries :j (only about 7 of those so far, from the little tree I planted last year)
Better get on and cook something for dinner I suppose. Hope everyone has a nice evening0 -
Hi again everyone
Wow, quiet on here today...
I have been busy around the house doing boring things
Paid £827.59 off debts last month - pretty pleased with that :T
Also watching Wimbledon and catching up with some reading. So many free books to read!
Switched our net flix bill so it comes out of our current a/c rather than a cc. Much easier to deal with rather than letting it come out and then paying off.
Hoping the rain stays on and it puts OH off his idea of us walking to the pub later - nice idea but I just can't be bothered
Have a good evening wherever you are.

Hi all
La E, that's a great figure. We are struggling to do much more than minimum payments at the moment.
Hope that ankle isnt too sore LegoMum.
Its been a very exciting day here. After a couple of lengthy discussions we have decided to get DS1 a moped and found and bought one locally today. Many of you will know that I spend a ridiculous amount of time ferrying DS1 about as we live in the middle of nowhere and this is going to make a huge difference to both of us. Financially it makes sense too because of the petrol costs/mileage on our car.
DS is happy for us to raid his savings account for the cost of the moped and training. We will try and help him with equipment. Insurance he is going to pay for himself on a monthly DD. This is just a short term solution until he is able to learn to drive and buy a car but it makes sense all round.
Oh and we called at the shopping centre and I had no interest in buying anything except a hair clip (£1)! Washing dried outside, HM lasagne for tea. Need to do a meal plan for next week as its going to be ridiculously busy.
Hope everyone had a good Saturday!0 -

Legomum starting to worry about you and your sleep. If it doesnt improve please see your doctor next week. End of Bob nag.
Dawn nice to see you here we missed you.
Princess your wedding pot is looking fab
Yorkshire that is great for you all. Really hope you wont worry to much about him on the roads.
So my efforts today
1. Posted an ebay sale £7 made
2. Saved 35p on a multi bag of crisps that had been ripped on the outer layer but the packets inside were fine.
3. Took DS to CEX to trade in 3 games, he got £20
4. Trip to Mr S resulted in 2 packs of cherry tomatoes for 11p each
5. Topped up with wombled points in S and T.
6. Lunch out was a packed lunch saving around £15
7. Listed 3 more items on ebay
8. Just made another small sale (£1) but a) it was a comic so thats only another 999 to go then, b) It declutters c) all adds to the overall total for the month
9. Made a £10 PAD so now into another £100 bracket
10. Made home made coleslaw to go with dinner which is 100% nicer than the stuff that passes for coleslaw in the shops & makes loads.
Bye for now
