Wow! Blanked out......& it wasn't even a very rude word!! (It rhymed with thickheads!)2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -

Censored! You rebel!
I know one should ignore aggressors but that's easier said than done.

Lovely day yesterday with old pals. Was real fun and a real laugh.
Today is very much a doing day so here goes:
Got dressed in to gym gear so have no excuse when DH gets back from swim
Overnight oats for breakfast
Washing out another load in
Meals from stores
Vacuum through
Shopping list done, go shopping later just for list
Get ready for week ahead including packed lunch for tomorrow
Go on Local art trail that's on just for the weekend in people's houses. It's free
Think that's all for now, will check back later. PF.
Managed whole list including sorting some stuff in DD room, including under the bed  art trail was amazing, we loved it and was lovely so support something so close to home. I bought a couple of cheap cards and picked up a card for a lady who makes some lovely items, have identified a few for Christmas presents so will message her.
Left over bbq stuff out of freezer for tea. Sunshine makes things so much better.
Sorry for idiots ally hope it's not ongoing0 -
Evening all - hope you are ok Ally

It actually hasn't rained here, all day :T first completely dry day for ages
Trundled round the local car boot sales this morning on my own - OH had a stall to run to raise money for a community group he is involved with. I donated some stuff, and organised change for him, but that was the limit of my involvement (it is a men's group, after all
). Bought a few bits for my business and some begonias to fill up spaces in the front garden. I am not really a begonia fan, but they do thrive there despite the dryness and the snails, and not much else does!
Came back and walked the dog - really needed to go to Sainsburys but cba - so made do with what we have, and I will aim to go tomorrow.
Listed a few bits on ebay
Sold 3 things :T
Packed one ready for posting - 2 still to do - come to think of it, I need to find one of them
Did a bit of paperwork for business
Made a loaf in the BM
HM meals from stores - I am in OH's good books as I made a steak and mushroom pie for dinner :rotfl:
Also made a rhubarb pie and a quiche shell, which I will fill and bake tomorrow, using up various gnarly bits of cheese etc from the fridge
Used our home grown new potatoes and mangetout for dinner, plus rhubarb in the pie
Cleared up the debris in the kitchen after pastry making
Picked a bowl of strawberries
Gave all the pots and baskets, the young trees and the raspberries in the back garden a really good water - must do the front tomorrow
Almost ready for a bath and bed now!0 -
Hi all
Oh Ally so sorry to hear that. Hope you have cried it all out of your system, hold your head up high love, you and DW should be proud of who you are.
Discovered an answer phone message from school from Friday saying that DS2 was supposed to resit a exam that is part of his GCSEs and didn't turn up. He got tearful and says he won't do it, he will fail again. It may be too late now anyway but I have to ring school tomorrow. They will just say he is not putting the effort in but how do we make him??? Upset and worried about all of this.
Washing dried, ironed and put away. Leftovers for tea. Need to get plenty of work done on job no. 2 this week. Night all x0
