What phone?

I need a suitable mobile that will allow me to use Whatsapp (sp)
I have searched the web and I am now more confused than when I stared 🤔
It must be a PAYG, I believe I just need wifi to use this app?
Can anybody please direct me to the best mse deal?

PAYG relates to the mobile plan, not the phone. For example, with giffgaff you can get a monthly rolling contract.

What you then need is a phone ... almost any modern phone will be OK to run Whatsapp.

'Whats App' can be used on Wifi so yes, anywhere in the world there is wifi.

Outer Mongolia maybe not!


(and any smart modern phone preferably with internal memory at least 8GB)

Yes anywhere wifi is available.

And safe and secure wifi as well.

You have given me plenty to think about, thank you all....but one last question please.
Because this phone will be used in France during the summer months, via the internet only as the mobile reception is dire where we will be staying can anybody envisage any problems that could arise?
Just one more :rotfl:....what is 4G?

Which problems do you envisage?

I don't see any issues arising. As long as the wifi is connected you will be fine.

4G is the mobile data. You not seen tv ads advertising a phone companies 4G network eg Kevin Bacon on the EE ads.
