I am in contract with Plusnet but fancy that BT deal that runs out today. Can I just sign up and let BT deal with the transfer over? Will Plusnet automatically know to not charge early termination charges?0

You must 'phone Plusnet to tell them you want to leave, without penalty, because of the changes to your prices. That's if you have received the e-mail from them.
No, they will not know with regards to early termination charges if you only sign up with BT without telling them.0 -
They will charge fee unless you follow the email instructions .
Basically you phone the number tell them you have received notification and wish to leave penalty free .They will then make you an offer to stay or not .0 -
got the plusnet email about price increase and thinking of jumping ship to BT to get £150 mastercard and £88 quidco - when looking at BT website i notice a £49 infinity activation charge to set up fibre - as i already have fibre set up with plusnet and wouldnt require an engineers visit etc just migration from plusnet to BT at exchange would this activation charge still be payable?? i also see that going thro quidco unlimited Infinity 1 seems to be £12.50/month on 12 month contract whereas it seems to be priced at £20/month via topcashback of direct to BT!!!!0

No idea re activation free in your case but have you looked at this deal with £200 cashback?

What's the best way to handle this then without risking losing internet for a few days/weeks?Why pay more than you have to?0 -
Phone up and tell the supplier you want to be released without penalty from the contract .
Then sign up with a new ISP .0 -
I phoned up Plusnet and told them I wish to leave penalty free, said ok. Then tried to sign up with BT and found Plusnet had put a 'stop'' on my line, preventing me from signing up with BT, having specifically asked that a cancellation would not affect me joining BT(They said it had to be that way to ensure the termination charges would be waived). Called up Plusnet again to get it lifted, then signed with BT.
Bit of a faff and stuck on the phone for an hour sorting it out...
Perhaps i should have signed up with BT then told plusnet i was leaving? But then might have missed a counter offer from Plusnet(I didn't as it turned out).
I see the deal is still on with a slight change. Its now £125 mastercard instead of £150, but that have lowered the cost of the broadband to £10.99 instead of £12.50.0 -
plusnet are offering me 2.50 broadband charge per month 16.99 rental fee to stay for 12 months, this is without me calling them for an offer. Should I still call them and ask them for a counter offer? I don't see any other ones worth it at the moment.
Is it worth me going for the BT as there is quidco cashback and reward card offer until tomorrow?0 -
Had the price increase email i was 12 months into a 18 month contract, phoned them up to leave and got £5 off my fibre for 24 months, wasn't going to leave anyway, more than happy with the service.3.64KW system, aurora power one inverter, South west facing with no shading in Lancashire.0
